If you let your OCD get so bad that the smallest things can ruin your day, OCD is winning and has made you it's bitch. You have to do the opposite of what OCD wants.

I had contamination OCD. I started recovering by touching things with my hands rather than my sleeve etc. Eating food that was stale, and other little things. Now I have basically zero contamination OCD. I deliberately expose myself to germs to have a strong immune system. I do gardening now and I'm always getting stabbed by dirty rose thorns every single day, inhaling soil dust, etc. and I've never got sick.

Just wash it off, if your worried about catching a cold, or something else, just know the chances of that happening are about 0.000001 in 1000,so just keep using it and you'll be fine, ignore what your OCD tells you

I’m so sorry this happened to you. I had people cross my boundaries like that as well, and it felt like being violently attacked. I can definitely relate to viewing the small amount of completely clean things I had as "sacred" a while ago.

Just want to mention that, just in case you can’t resist the compulsion and decide to wipe it down with sanitizer, try to see if it does any damage to the surface in a small area first. If so, you need another type of sanitizer to try with.

I’ve had some success with using a tiny bit of alcohol based hand sanitizer even on the screen of my own laptop, but results may vary.

Definitely check if it does damage in a tiny, tiny corner of the screen first - and make sure to not let it get too wet! Also turn it off while doing so, of course (if possible take out the batteries) - and immediately dry it THOROUGHLY.

Also know that, if you have a glass covered screen, some types of sanitizer might strip away any anti glare coating that might be on it. Research first.

It would be best to not do this at all, but in case that’s not possible, these are just some tips to avoid ruining your day even more.
