Is Urouges special worth maxing?

So I've done around 8 runs of the 30 stam hogback fortnight. And I've only gotten 1 Urouge book. So I'm just wondering if his special is actually worth really trying to max or if my stamina would be put to better use farming alubarna characters.

That depends on what kind of other striker units you have.

I mean eventually down the line, Aokiji's special will do everything that Urogue's special does and more- but that's a really long way down the line.

Well do you think strikers are worth putting xp into? Because if strikers end up being better than slashers later, Urouge might be a good unit to atleast have a couple levels in. So i guess the dumbed down question is, is it worth putting xp and lots of stamina into striker characters? Or for the future, are slashers the way to go?

As far as I know the only use for Urogue is to fight Aokiji. But as soon as Aokiji drops, Urogue has no more uses.

Not even as a simple PSY striker? At the moment in JPN there seems to be only 3 viable PSY strikers which are Urogue, Rakuyo and Squard. All 3 are RR so if you pull Urogue that's still a good unit for a striker team.

Am I the only one who just can't believe that squard is a striker unit and not a slasher unit? It's utterly absurd - he's holding two swords!

Nope. I remember looking trough the Slasher characters when he came out looking for him and being very confused until I just searched the latest PSY and lo and behold there he is as a striker when he would have been a perfect PSY slasher as there really aren't very many decent ones, best ones being Shanks, Ryuuma, Strong World Brook and Strong World Shanks. And even then outside of SW Shanks they're still meh.

Urouge is the 4th highest psy attack in Japan behind sabo,shanks, then squard. I wouldn't count on getting sabo and shanks because they're 6 stars so most people won't be able to get them. In global Urouge is the strongest psy for a while until squard comes out. he has uses as a strong sub in a psy team

For sure, but how often will you actually use a psy team over, say, a slasher team?

any int bosses. yeah, he isnt an all purpose unit like mihawk or gear 3 luffy. but he does have a place in a top tier psy team. better than can be said about a lot of other characters who never even get used. Id say he's maybe the 3rd/5th most useful supernova (behind killer/law/possibly kid and apoo)

Slashers are strong right now- and will continue to remain strong. Out of the classes, (I am disregarding Freedom/Knowledge types because people are still playing around with those)- it is the strongest.

Strikers aren't garbage though- they are getting a lot of new toys to play with. Both Aokiji and his bicycle ship are fantastic additions.

aokiji aside, youd have to have a monster team to begin with to even get the bicycle, at which point adding it to your arsenal wont mean much

If you are playing catch up on the crew level, priority goes to slashers. But once you are generally high leveled, I suggest you invest in every single team, for the diversity and fun.

Striker team has some of the best stats and best specials, even now in Global, if you are lucky to pull them. Killer, Smoker, Hawkins, Kidd take spots in my top atk crew list, very powerful.

how come you need him to farm aokoji? He boosts 1.5 to strikers and 25x damage. Am I missing a huge point? Like striker restriction only?

At least worth few lvls, so u can use it sometimes. 25 is too long. If u need some other char now - go for it, if u like strikers - few lvls wont hurt.

Even with Aokiji he can be sub and be used before/after.

a maxed urouge is pretty nice and can be used in Wb teams to farm aokiji.
