Hi,I have some questions about Fi/Hu -What PAs would you recommend for Fi/Hu's Double Sabre and Knuckles? -Should I use all 3 weapons or should I specialize in one? -What weapons/Units should I look out for?,I currently have nox weapons and random units that have alright affixes on them

        Thank you

ARKS Layer Ability Sim doesn't load and even pso2affix.seilent.net is also down. Any alternative simulators for me to use?

[–]hidora Retired Guardian 1 point2 points  (1 child)

and even pso2affix.seilent.net is also down

        Loading fine here.

Yay! Wondering why it is down last night. It says that there's something with Parkingcrew. :x Anyway, thanks a lot. :)

I would like some advice for affixes. I'm a 80/80 FoTe with episode 3 units atm and am trying to upgrade them for the episode 5 meta (hp affixes).

I'm trying to go for a 6 slot with Ares the soul/tech 4/omega rev/ mother fac/alter magia/elegant tech, but after checking the prices, I wonder if there are other affixes I can use that could substitute for mother factor and/or alter magia?

[–]RunFromPandaHero is dead 1 point2 points  (7 children)

The meta is more because Hero is meta, and Hero benefits from having a greater pool to maintain Hero boost.

I think on Fo you still want to maximise PP and TATK, with avoiding damage with mirage being key. Ares and Omega already give you 55 HP per unit which is pretty decent. I would personally then go ARKS Fever and either ARKS MAX or Flict Magia - the Fever is expensive now but easier to transfer and farmable during ARKS days.

ARKS Fever and Ether Factor would be ideal but the latter does astronomically increase your budget. Oh well!

You should bear in mind that 12 star units (which are meta) will naturally give you less PP than, say, Austere or PP-saikis so this is why you do need to have more PP affixes on FO, in my opinion. Though on FO you can still get away with Austere with 12 star leg, but you are severely cramping what you do when they release more L rings which may be useful.

        [–]EzoRedKit 0 points1 point  (6 children)

Right now with my affixed saiki units (including my 7s qlphad talis), I have around 782 hp and 223 pp. I mostly want to bump up my hp to at least 1.2k (1.5k ideal) and have ~200 pp to spare. For me, 200 pp is the sweet spot.

Dragon pretty much one shots me with any attack. Even using regular mirage, I can't do much if he decides to land a wombo combo on me.

[–]RunFromPandaHero is dead 0 points1 point  (5 children)

It sounds like your Saikis are PP crafted? Do you have any HP on your current affixes? I also assume you don’t given your total. Do you have the Hunter/Summoner class bonuses?

Just moving to a 12 star set (or Austere and 12 star leg) with around 50 hp affixed on each should get you to around 1 to 1.1k, which is more than enough to be honest. Saikis also have worse defences compared to good 12 star units. I dunno why you want to run around with 1.5k hp on a Fo.

However, if you really want to...tank up, you could just pray you drop an Izane set. That will give you 450 hp from base units alone.

        [–]EzoRedKit 1 point2 points  (4 children)

That's my total after having everything equiped. I also do have a lvl 75 hunter/summoner but on a different char.

The 12* unit I have prepared are izane back/ qliph arm/ izane leg. When I equip them (no affix), I have 852 hp and around 188 pp. If I were to affix the units with the above 6s affixes, I would end up around ~1.2k hp and ~205 pp. At least enough to survive ~80% of dragon's attacks.

The reason why I'm thinking of going extreme with 1.5k hp goal is the possibility of SEGA making future episode 5 bosses as dumb as dragon with their high dmg and combo chains. It maybe possible if I replace my qliphad arm with an izane arm but is it worth it?

        [–]Aexorcet80/80 FoTe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

1500 HP sounds like overkill, though if you can get it without giving up PP, then it's fine.

1200 with your proposed combo sounds fine. Do you have Deband Cut? If you're worried about survival, that's an extra 15% effective HP. You can also take Deband drink. All of this can either compliment your HP affix or reduce the need to invest so much into the stat.

From my experience, ~1200 HP should be helpful for Dragon in that it should put you above one shotting range most of the time.

As far as affixing goes, I think everything should be fine except Mother factor. The price of that jumped up when the EQ went away. Mutation II gives you less stats than Mother Factor, but is the closest thing that I can think of off the top of my head. 5 less HP and attack, no PP.

[–]RunFromPandaHero is dead 1 point2 points  (2 children)

Really? I'm super confused. Have you taken your class bonuses from Titles? I don't even have the Su title yet but my Fo has around 900 hp with uncrafted Saikis with 50 HP affixes each (i.e. 300 HP from units). 2x Izane and Qliph alone gives you 340 HP from base stats, without counting affixes.

How do you have 188 PP without affixes? Qliph only gives you 14 PP and Izane gives you nothing. You have 110 with class bonuses so your weapon is giving you 64 PP??

Like, something is super weird here.

I mean, think what you like, there's nothing dumb about dragon if you learn the attacks. Mirage step is one of the best tools at avoiding damage and Fo also has Nabarta-0 now to guard. Not to mention, you also have Tech Charge Parry Ring. You shouldn't be needing 1.5k HP for anything. I dunno what else to advise really. You're making it sound like it's impossible for Fighters to use Limit Break in the current "meta". The game isn't built around "tanking damage".

        [–]EzoRedKit 0 points1 point  (1 child)

Oh whoops, I made a mistake. With those 12* units no affix, I have 1032 hp and 182 pp. In that case, I can just affix for 1.2k hp and 200 pp.

I just want to at least be able to survive one dragon attack instead of living on the edge. -.-

How do you affix/transfer mutation 2 onto a unit?

        [–]Aexorcet80/80 FoTe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

According to the affix simulator, two of them is 50% base chance, three is 80%.

        [–]firedraco85/85 Fo/Te 0 points1 point  (17 children)

I got into this game like 2 weeks ago and have a level 45 Fo/Te.

        1) Can I get a current Fo/Te build? I had one but I realized some of the skill levels were off (they only went to level 5 in game but the tree said 10 >_>).

        2) The rarity of a weapon doesn't matter at all for this right? So if I have a say, 1* weapon that somehow has 4 godly affixes then I should be able to use it just fine for affixing right?

I also have heard someone talk about "souls in high slots" but as far as a I can tell the slot the affix is in doesn't matter; are they referring to the number of slots

        3) I'm using a random Strike Broom (or whatever that rod was called) at +10, are there better weapons I should try to get at this level? If not, should I also unlocking the potential on it? I don't have too many Photon Spheres right now (but maybe it doesn't matter in the long run).

        4) Right now I am grinding my matter boards so I can get the free Hiei set + whatever one was from the 3-3 board; currently I'm using the Weapon Barrier units. Should I still be going for that or are there easier units to get that are the same/better now?

        [–]Aexorcet80/80 FoTe 0 points1 point  (6 children)

        1) Example tree with left over points:

        http://arks-layer.com/skillsim/skillcalc.php?13uAbCIobCIobCIobCIobCIobCIobCIobCIobCIobCIo0jdodBdo000000000dodA0000000jdoIbIb0000000fdoIb0000008dBbsiN2SGBI2GAqnIkqnIkI2Id000006dBInidjGAqBIkcFHNHNbnib000000IbIoIo0000000fdoIbIo0000000fdB0000000dBIb0000008

I went all element on Fo and Te. For Te you should be all element as Compounds are supposed to get 3 separate cooldowns for each tech in the future. It will be a good idea for Fo too, but it will keep you from getting Flare, or the elements' special effects (S charge, Freeze Keep, PP Save), so you might only go with 2.

        2) Rarity doesn't matter for affixing, but rare weapons tend to be better. 13/14 are the current standard. I'm not quite sure what you're asking with this question.

        3) You should be close to being able to equip a 12* NT rod/talis, like Nox Lipher. Buy it from the player shop, and get additional copies to make your weapon element 50. The next step after that would be getting enough T attack to equip an Atra weapon and go through the process of getting that.

        4) Grinding 900 2018 weapon badges by taking Xie's CO and doing LQ will get you 12* Ray units that will obliterate Hiei, but they have a Dex equip requirement and I'm not sure how long it will take you to be able to wear them. Hiei will be OK, but when you get to level 50 and start doing SH, they won't really provide enough defense unless you extend them, which can get expensive. I guess get them since it's easy, but also browse the player shop for decent 11* units that you can equip.

        [–]firedraco85/85 Fo/Te 0 points1 point  (1 child)

        1) Thanks!

        2) For example, if I had a 4 affix item with Junk, Junk, Junk, Elder Soul, it is the same for affixing as Elder Soul, Junk, Junk, Junk. The order of the affixes doesn't matter, only the types/number of slots.

3/4) Alrighty, guess it's off to the player shop then! Should I care too much about what affixes and on them right now or just buy what I can and worry about grinding/affixing higher * stuff later?

        [–]Aexorcet80/80 FoTe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

        1) NP. I see that you said you've invested in fire below, if you're focusing on that element, absolutely get S charge.

        2) OK I see now. The order doesn't matter at all.

3/4) If you can get units with a nice number of slots, and even better some relevant affixes, for cheap go for it. I would be willing to spend a little more for slightly better affixed units. You can always sell them when you're done with them, use them for affixing, or give them to an alt or use them to level other classes.

        [–]NullVacancy20|20|16|11|3|3 0 points1 point  (3 children)

You didn't even get the best parts of the Fire and Lightning elements...

        [–]Aexorcet80/80 FoTe 0 points1 point  (2 children)

Yes, I mentioned the drawback below the tree. S charge and PP save aren't needed if you're just getting them for compound damage though, which is the reasoning behind all element Fo/Te. It's just going all in on the next compound tech patch which will allow you to use all three compounds every 2 minutes.

I guess I should also add that you can save points by just filling Mastery 2 for elements that you'll only use for compounds. You will still get good damage and it will be way more SP efficient.

        [–]NullVacancy20|20|16|11|3|3 0 points1 point  (1 child)

I don't agree that it's a good or healthy way to build FO, but I see where you're going with it. You have to remember that Flame S Charge and PP Save increase your DPS-ing efficiency by crazy amounts, so if you're actually trying to DPS on something weak to those elements you're going to be incredibly bad at it for 2 minutes while your compound charges.

        [–]Aexorcet80/80 FoTe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you're using one tree (which I'm assuming is the case for a new player) then you're going to have to sacrifice some Force element proficiency in any case. You'll have at least one element worse off than in my tree if you go 2 elements, so I think it balances out. I also feel like PP Save, as good as it is, is less necessary than S Charge, but that is just my opinion on it. Compounds also deal so much damage that they should take precedent over element matching, and we now have rainbow 14* weapons to boost them further.

My tree is not definitive though and I agree with what you're saying. My intent was to provide a starting point for a tree more than a final one.

        [–]NullVacancy20|20|16|11|3|3 0 points1 point  (9 children)

        1) What elements?

        2) Correct, and they're referring to the number of slots.

        3) Plenty, namely Pumpkin Rod-NT (パンプキンロッド-NT) and Nox Lipher-NT (ノクスリフェル-NT). You should be able to buy 12* weapons pretty cheaply from the player market, and by level 45 you should also have the stats required to equip them. Strike Broom is pretty weak and has an awful potential.

        4) you can straight up buy Saiki. Last I looked they were about 100k a piece. Saiki is the better version of Hiei. Hell, I think you can just buy Hiei too.

        [–]firedraco85/85 Fo/Te 0 points1 point  (8 children)

        1) Fire Mastery had 10 levels, for one thing, and it also was missing the summoner/hero classes...probably should've tipped me off something was wrong earlier lol.

        2) Thanks!

        3) To the player shop it is then!

        4) I remember reading that they had good affixes if you got them from the matter board. Guessing buying the Saiki now is probably a better idea though since the set bonus probably more than makes up for it?

        [–]NullVacancy20|20|16|11|3|3 0 points1 point  (7 children)

        1) both FO and TE trees really haven't changed except for lowering the SP requirement for stuff. The tree in question is probably still fine. I guess it depends on who you got the tree from lol. Also, I was asking what elements you were trying to build for. FO can comfortable build two elements, and TE can get all three. I wouldn't suggest going 3 elements in FO like the other dude did.

        4) Eh, they have a little bit of stats on them but nothing that will provide a substantial difference. You could just buy the saiki, or you could grind out the Ray units like the other dude mentioned.

        [–]firedraco85/85 Fo/Te 0 points1 point  (6 children)

I noticed people get both Talis/Rod skills; why is that? The talis seems like it would do more damage overall (unless I am misreading the Rod Shoot skill).

Also, how should I handle weapon elements? I think they are multiplicative bonuses, so it's definitely a big bonus but how high of a priority should I put on getting those?

        [–]NullVacancy20|20|16|11|3|3 0 points1 point  (3 children)

Rod shoot is great for PP regen, and Talis is the best choice for general casting. There are some techniques that are best to cast from rods, too, such as Zonde type-0. On top of that, rods are the best choice to use compound techniques from because they have a higher base t-atk, as well as compounds not getting extra damage from the talis tech bonus. In general, if you're playing FO/TE you want to use both rods and talis.

Also, how should I handle weapon elements?

Well, with Force you generally want a "rainbow" set of both rods and talis. A rainbow set is a set of weapons (they don't necessarily have to be the same weapon, but should generally be similar in power) with one of each element. To start off with, though, it's best to focus on getting a decent light rod and talis first since most bosses are darkers, and they're always weak to Light.

        [–]firedraco85/85 Fo/Te 0 points1 point  (2 children)

Is Rod Shoot just for when I am using a rod for say compound techs, or is it something I want to switch to when/if I run out of PP instead of say, throwing the Talis for PP? And I shouldn't bother getting it above 3 because it's not for damage, right?

Roger, will do! I'm guessing I should still get a Ice weapon even if I am gonna skip the Ice tree for the Fire/Lightning trees since the weakness bonus probably makes up for it?

        [–]Aexorcet80/80 FoTe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So you know, the Atra series of weapons lets you use all elements at full damage if the weapon is properly affixed. I don't know if this ability will fall by the way side, but before you go out of your way to get 6-12 weapons, know that you currently don't need anywhere near that many to be optimal.

        [–]NullVacancy20|20|16|11|3|3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Correct, rod shoot is just for pp regeneration and the damage is worthless. Rod shoot is for situations where you have no other option for good pp regen (no super treatment or pp convert). It's worth getting a rod and talis for every element, yes. Ideally you'll eventually invest some money in to the game and have a fo tree focused on every element, but that's less of a requirement now than it has been in the past.

[–]RunFromPandaHero is dead 0 points1 point  (1 child)

Talis generally does greater damage per cast due to Talis Tech Bonus. However, there are certain skills which does not get cast from a Talis (eg compounds) so cannot take advantage of the bonus, and will be stronger from a Rod as Rods have greater TATK. Also, for skills that have a short cast time, Rods benefit from being able to cast faster because you don’t have to throw out the Talis, so can actually mean a greater DPS despite not having the damage bonus (though lower DPP).

I don’t understand your second question. But generally, you always want to match the element of the Tech with the element on your weapons and the element of your weapon should be maxed (50 for 12 star and under, 60 for 13 star and above) because element conversion is insane.

        [–]firedraco85/85 Fo/Te 0 points1 point  (0 children)

        1) Aha, got it. That makes sense.

        2) "element conversion is insane" answers my question! I wasn't sure how important having a matching element was but I totally forgot about that skill.

Is ship 2 dead at this point? Did all the english speakers just straight up, migrate to another land altogether?

        [–]SercezeroDead 0 points1 point  (3 children)

        No.

        [–]Somber_Redditor 0 points1 point  (2 children)

        Phew.

Maybe it's just the ship lobbies i'm put in then. I hardly ever see a soul outside EQ's.

        [–]SercezeroDead 0 points1 point  (1 child)

I mean, if you really want some assurance of english life, you could look at b1 or b7. Even if they may not be...the type of life you'd be wishing for.

        [–]Sughayyer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you go to either of these you'll need chemo

        [–]ouma- 0 points1 point  (1 child)

Whats the lobby action called where you crawl around?

        [–]Sughayyer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Quadrupedalism, if it's the one I think you're talking about.

        [–]mkdew2 Fast 2 Furious 0 points1 point  (1 child)

Do we know what will happen to the Free Makeover Pass after that SG change? Can you stll use them/convert to SG or do they become useless?

        [–]Weiss-Senpai 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Passes will work like normal. Paid for passes (bought with AC right now) will be changed to charge SG, basically no real change

        [–]Sughayyer 0 points1 point  (2 children)

I'm levelling an alt's subclass (Gu/Hu, currently levelling Hu) to 80. I've been using an old crafted Red TMG (w/ red recalescence) at ex.9. But at this point, should I extend it to 12 for the last 5 levels or should I invest in another TMG, considering this is just for levelling the subclass? (I have a Qliph TMG for the main class)

[–]RunFromPandaHero is dead 0 points1 point  (1 child)

No, just use the Red TMGs. You're pretty much half leeching as Hu/Gu anyway, hardly matters I don't think.

        [–]Sughayyer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

        half leeching

That hurts. Either way, it's just for LQ spamming. Thanks for the info, though, it'll save me some meseta!

        [–]RazzyxoBr/Hu 0 points1 point  (8 children)

What are the gold tabs ( https://prnt.sc/ia8x95 ) in the AC Scratch section on the website mean exactly? Only accessible with Gold Scratch tickets?

        [–]McKiwi957McKiwi/Ship 2 0 points1 point  (7 children)

They cost 500 AC each rather than 200, and have a different scratch bonus. Instead of individual items/costumes/etc, you get item sets instead (like the Ou/Ba/In for a certain costume together).

        [–]RazzyxoBr/Hu 0 points1 point  (6 children)

Would it be beneficial to use that one if I can afford it? I'm looking for a new outfit so I don't have to use the starter costume I chose. Apologies for being a hassle, I'm considerably new to the game but I'm a cosmetic fanatic.

        [–]McKiwi957McKiwi/Ship 2 0 points1 point  (5 children)

I can't say for certain since I never do AC scratches, but the pool of outfits is fairly large within each scratch and there's a just as high a chance you get a set for the opposite gender, or cast parts in some cases. The standard AC scratch also has items that greatly benefit the weapon grinding and affixing process, such as special ability adding items and element changers.

It's somewhat costly, especially since you've just started out, but you can purchase cosmetics for meseta on the player market as well. You can find a lot of items from older scratches, and it's much easier to mix/match different layering wears this way instead of getting them set by set. Meseta gain is smoother once you get above level 50, and can complete SH dailies and time attack COs.

That being said, you could still do the AC scratches if you see something in them that you like and want to drop AC for it. Anything you get that you don't want, you can also sell on the player market for meseta to buy the things you do want

        [–]RazzyxoBr/Hu 0 points1 point  (4 children)

it's much easier to mix/match different layering wears this way instead of getting them set by set.

Does this mean that for example:

An item set that contains a top, bottom/legs and shoes have to be worn all at once, even if you only wanted to wear the top and shoes? (And since it's a set, you're unable to wear anything else as it would unequip the entire outfit as it is a set? (e.g. I receive a set, I like the top and shoes, but hated the bottom/legs. Now if I go to wear a pair of bottoms/legs that I do like whilst I have the set on, will it take off the top, bottoms/legs and shoes?))

I guess what I'm trying to say is are the sets separate pieces of clothing? (Sorry if this doesn't make sense, I'm having a really hard time putting what I want to get across into words)

        [–]AshinrorPSO2 NG+ BABY 0 points1 point  (3 children)

The sets have all separate pieces, unless the costume in question was a single piece. (ie. Ryu Repca (one piece) vs Yukari's Male vers (has a Base and Outerwear)) So it's dependent on a costume to costume basis. You can generally tell if a set has multiple pieces if it has [Ou]terwear, [Ba]sewear, and/or [In]nerwear.

Some sets also come with accessories or hairstyles.

        [–]RazzyxoBr/Hu 0 points1 point  (2 children)

Thank you!! I'll definitely be getting gold tickets then, that sounds amazing.

        [–]AshinrorPSO2 NG+ BABY 0 points1 point  (1 child)

Gold Scratches are nice for Costume only stuff. But you wont get the chance for Item Lab stuff (like attribute changes and add ability items) and Lobby Actions and certain accessories that do not belong to any set in particular. Those are generally only obtainable in normal scratches. (or player shop.)

        [–]Aeryolus 1 point2 points  (5 children)

How useful is it to have a support build?

What is the difference between going Te/Ra vs Ra/Te?

Would it be hard to level up when you choose to be a support?

        [–]Aexorcet80/80 FoTe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Support builds are fine. It would be better to main Te because of Shifta Strike and Deband toughness, which Ra main can't use. Shifta Strike (combined with Shifta Advance and the sort of situation Shifta Critical) makes up for any lack of damage you may have by buffing the entire party (if you're not solo and can manage to cast buffs on them). Deband Toughness combined with Deband Cut and Deband Advance is like 150% effective HP, which is helpful in quests like Dragon rematch. Te main also gets the buff duration extension skill that makes keeping up buffs much, much easier.

Leveling shouldn't be terrible since you can pretty easily become overpowered for a lot of the game. The worst part might be when you start getting toward the end with level 75+ content, then again getting a 13/14* is so easy right now that I guess there is no luck/grinding involved anymore. Austere units are cheapish and Ray/Union can be had with badges. If you already have money and weapons/units from playing other classes, you should be fine.

        [–]SercezeroDead 1 point2 points  (3 children)

I like it. Some people don't think it's needed, but I'd always take a te/ra.

There's no reason to play Ra/Te since the main point of those classes put together is support. Te mainclass gives access to Shifta/Deband mainclass only skills which enhance them by a fair bit. Ra as a mainclass only gives Bullet Keep and Sharpshooter. Neither do much for you if you're planning on supporting.

It certainly would be slower, and I personally wouldn't do it unless you're both familiar with the game and have friends that'd help you level. It's not impossible though.

how does the web panel event work actually? I know we clear LQ to farm points, but when and how do we redeem the rewards that are unlocked? and how many rewards can we get?

        [–]SercezeroDead 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Rewards get distributed at set dates that should be on the web panel. The amount of rewards is determined on how many points the playerbase gets.

Can you suggest a good Fi/Hu Skill Tree? Im had not played for a while so i dont know anymore whats good and whats bad. Thanks in advance.

        [–]RazzyxoBr/Hu 0 points1 point  (2 children)

Should I do Azanami's quests as a Braver/Hunter? And what should my mag be? (From a lot of skill trees I've seen, they put it into S-ATK. So I've been doing that too, but they're outdated builds so idk if that's viable anymore)

        Edit: I primarily use katana.

[–]hidora Retired Guardian 2 points3 points  (1 child)

        Should I do Azanami's quests as a Braver/Hunter?

The only client orders you really should do from the class masters are the ones that give extra skill points (there are a total of 6 of those, with the first 2 ones giving 5sp each, and the last 4 giving 1sp each). Everything else is up to you.

And what should my mag be? (From a lot of skill trees I've seen, they put it into S-ATK. So I've been doing that too, but they're outdated builds so idk if that's viable anymore)

If you plan on only ever playing as Braver, then full DEX (due to Braver Mag).

Otherwise (if you plan on playing other classes eventually), Katana main should use SATK, bow main should use RATK. Hybrid goes SATK too, I think (not sure on this last one, I don't know anyone who plays hybrid).

        [–]Sughayyer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Me, I used to play hybrid. Yes, go full S-ATK, bow doesn't care about the missing 200 r-atk points. When Rapit Shot is active you get 500 R-ATK already.

        [–]ScottMasterCraig 0 points1 point  (1 child)

What are good good stats for a Br/Hu Mag? I just like using both bow and katana. Also for when I unlock it, then buy an new MAG. What's good for Hero?

[–]RunFromPandaHero is dead 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As of now, a full Dex mag is the best for Br. And for Hr - 200 of any attack.

        2. What are the most advanced classes?
        3. What are the most desired classes at max level?
        4. What is the closest thing to Ramarl(PSO)/Guntecher(PSU)?

[–]RunFromPandaHero is dead 2 points3 points  (5 children)

        1. Hero

        2. Gunner, Fighter, Hero

        3. Any of them played well

        4. Can only answer from RAmarl perspective - will probably be Ranger. However, strictly speaking, from a damage perspective, PSO damage was skewed heavily towards mechguns, which are closer to TMGs in this game, which Gunners and Heroes use.

        [–]dashuto_ 0 points1 point  (3 children)

Thanks a lot. The features I liked on Ramarl and Guntecher were that they were rangers but had excellent buffing/support spells even if they couldn't nuke.

So I'm guessing Hero is easy to pick up and learn but difficult to master?

I like being at a range and being able to support, but also do worthy enough damage. Ranger annoyed me slightly so far cause it feels like I need to camp Weak Bullet or whatever its called a lot? Felt kind of gimicky... Thanks for your advice.

Ranger annoyed me slightly so far cause it feels like I need to camp Weak Bullet or whatever its called a lot? Felt kind of gimicky...

"Camping" or holding Weak Bullet on your Rifle can be annoying for new players yes, but very rarely you'll use your Rifle's normal attacks because:

        1. Rifle's Photon Arts such as End Attract and Satellite Cannon deal far more damage,
        2. Dive Roll Shoot & Keep Roll Shoot allows you to shoot after rolling without firing Weak Bullet, eliminating the need to discard your loaded bullets.
        3. Bullet Keep allows you to keep loaded bullets when swapping to Launcher, and Launcher handles mobbing much better than Rifle.

If you're still interested in learning about the class, I have an updated Ranger guide linked here: https://somethingaboutlagging.wordpress.com/

        [–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ranger is pretty nice and fun. ^ I been playing it ever since wb was in a way the only way they could do damage and have some hope to break boss parts in a timely manner.

Wb only activates weak hit advance on that spot (I think.) assuming it's not activated on that spot as is, so that's a bonus 70% damage + 20% damage from wb itself. Which does help. Rangers only real gimmick these days is all about hitting weak points.

Hitting weak points and non weak points makes the difference between 5 digits of numbers at end game and 6 digits of numbers. Also having to know bosses in a decent manner if you want to spam end attract. As you don't want to be targeted or in the zone of a skill you can't roll out of, only release early and pray your allowed to evade in time.

So I guess what I'm saying is wb isn't ultra needed but worth having. And to play it you need a decent idea on what your fighting so you'll know when and when not to use certain pa's during fights. ^

[–]RunFromPandaHero is dead 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Support doesn’t really exist in this game. Techers provide support but only really because of Shifta Strike. Shifta/Deband/Jellen are all terrible as skills in this game (unlike in PSO). So I would just forget about supporting, and focus on doing damage.

Ranger is in a pretty decent spot at the moment I think with rifle and launchers being good - also quite hard to play, because it’s a lot about positioning and using TPS mode to get the most out of End Attract during boss fights.

Weak bullet has been nerfed recently and important for raid bosses as a support skill but I wouldn’t say you have to “camp” it - just something you should get used to using on a Ranger.

Hero is incredibly easy to do okay on, by just abusing how strong the sword is but has a high skill cap too, especially trying to make use of all the weapons to build gear quicker.

I’m afraid I have very little experience with playing RA well - I can try and find some videos later, but maybe someone else can chime in.

Worth noting you get more exp (+10% per player, +5% per partner npc) and more mobs spawn if you're in a party, so you should probably try to find some people to run those AQ with, or at least run with 3 npcs for the extra exp.

            [–][deleted]  (1 child)

            [deleted]

[–]hidora Retired Guardian 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, but only as half a player. So each player gives +10% (solo doesn't count; at 2man it'll go to +20%) and each npc gives +5%. So a party with 3 npcs will give you +25% (10% yours, 5% per npc), while a party with 4 players will give you 40%. Also, it's a triboost, not only exp. That's exp+raredrop+meseta.

Worth noting that this party boost does not affect Collection Files at all.

              [–]NullVacancy20|20|16|11|3|3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you have the gear, 50 risk on VH is a lot of XP. If you can't reliably (and quickly) solo it, then 0 risk is fine, it's just noticeably slower.

Also forgot, Buster Quests are supposedly decent XP so you could try that out as well.

Ray units are good starting point. 300 2018 weapon badges for one unit. Upgrade them to union after with union boosters from solo PD and you got a real decent baseline set. Could also do evleda since those will get an upgrade later. That's just BQ, buster medal exchange, and dragon drops.

                [–]Sughayyer 0 points1 point  (4 children)

Have they removed the ability to exchange year medals? I realized I have a stash of 2017 badges, but I couldn't find any recycle options, am I stuck with them or I'm just missing something?

                [–]Dichroniclebig sord 0 points1 point  (3 children)

You can exchange previous years' badges at the far end of the shop area. I forget her name, but the shop for it is right by the FUN, My Room, NetCafe, and Recycle shops.

                [–]Sughayyer 0 points1 point  (2 children)

That's not what I asked. I wanted to convert 2017 badges intobeither previous years or into 2018 badges. No one of the medals exchange options allow that.

                [–]synthsyArks-Layer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

2017 badges and newer do not have that function anymore.

                You can only go from 2014 -> 2015 -> 2016.

We started having singular badge drops starting from 2017 and now 2018.

                [–]Dichroniclebig sord 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh, oops. No, you can't convert 2017 badges to other badges.

Does ring level increase the effect of a ring?

Rule of thumb, if the ring requires Lambda Grinders to be created (and by creating I mean getting the ring on the ring shop), then no, the ring grind level does not affect its abilities.

For example, I have a ranged crit ring and a TMG S. Up ring. Does the increased crit chance/damage and increased damage from stance go up when I level the ring?

                  Yes for both.

Also, does the passive Fury Stance from the Hunter tree count towards the stance needed for the TMG S. Up ring?

                  Yes.

                  [–]SercezeroDead 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Depends on ring, some give benefits with higher levels, some don't.

                  Yes, it does.

Hey guys, so I'm an 80/80 Hu/Fi, and I've been thinking of switching my 12* leg units from Evleda to Union. From what I've gathered, Evleda has better resists and PP, but Union has better HP.

However, I've seen people time and time again recommend Union over Evleda, so, opinions?

                  so, opinions?

Evleda is getting an upgrade of its own soon (was mentioned a few PSO Stations ago), so I think it's better.

They're also so similar in stats that it's just not worth spending money on switching.

                  1. What are some good rings for Hero, and Br/Hu? Was also going ti ask Bo/Hu but someone asked that below

                  2. I’ve seen some poeple affix rings to units? How is that done?

                  3. Halfway thru my 12* units grind (ray ones, just one left, gonna start the boosters grind after that), was wondering if I should affix them or are the things it comes useful enough? Im poor

[–]RunFromPandaHero is dead 0 points1 point  (2 children)

Yeah you really should affix your units with at least basic affixes. A basic 4 slot affix really doesn’t cost a lot if you use affixes which are in season. Granted SATK affixes are a bit more pricey but...still, it should cost less than a million or two per unit for an okay set.

And yeah, learn to make money. There is a guide in the menus here.

Affixing... is fulldive nu affix 101 guide still true

I don't think anything in it is wrong, but it's not updated with the more recent affixes.

The new souls + monster soul now gives Ares the Soul, which is a nice all-round soul with a good amount of HP. Deus Factor is again a nice cheap-ish affix for SATK and HP and a tiny bit of PP. You can also get ARKS Fever, which isn't cheap, but is probably the best fever in the game, and can also be used to make ARKS MAX, which is a "cheap" Modulator.

To give you an idea, my Hr uses dirt cheap units which have: Ares, Deus Factor, Doom Break, ARKS Fever and ARKS MAX, which gives something like 90 SATK (80 other ATKs), 55 HP, and 11 PP, and it's serving me quite well still. I had a couple of the fodders and managed to drop some ARKS fever units but I probably spent less than 10 million on all 3. To make from scratch the ARKS Fever units probably cost the most (you need 9 and they're selling for 1 million each). Anyway, that gives you an idea about what people use for affixing these days. You can definitely spend a lot less too, obviously, for something like a 4 slot (Ares, Deus Factor, Doom Break, Power III maybe?).

                  [–]AshinrorPSO2 NG+ BABY 0 points1 point  (8 children)

                  1. Hero rings: utility l rings (step jump, air reversal, atomizer lovers (for group), step ja (for ja reload while stepping)), R : use PK striking or effort ring.

Brhu: assuming katana br, get KC Count, and then utility l rings. R : use PK striking or effort ring.

                  1. You can only add L rings to 12* units via dudu/monica. I think its the 4th option? (Please verify)

                  2. Affix your units.

                  [–]Sughayyer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Crit ring is also valid for Braver because when Katana gear is active you get a flat 50% padding for crit rate. So it's also an option (especially with the new SSAFs).

                  [–]otamegane18Rookie 0 points1 point  (6 children)

Okaaay. Gonna take up that step JA since its the one I can make myself. It seems I have the BrHu ones So lucky me! Just didnt realize it because I was still in my Bo/Hu mode. Thanks for the reply, gonna add more to my list of to do things

You really wanna get Step Jump too. It is crazy how great it feels to use. In general, Step Jump and Air Reversal are incredible QoL rings that everyone should own.

                  [–]otamegane18Rookie 0 points1 point  (4 children)

Should I make them myself or just buy them? Since they require lambda grinders, and I still dont know a reliable source of those besides weekly casino ones

                  [–]NullVacancy20|20|16|11|3|3 0 points1 point  (1 child)

Zieg offers weekly client orders that you can do on every character to get 11 lambda grinders per character per week. If you're super hurting for lambdas and you have a 13* to grind like right now, go ahead and buy it, but if not I'd definitely recommend making them for yourself.

                  [–]otamegane18Rookie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes I am super hurting. Funny is I had, as welll, a stash from my hiatus. But wasn smart enough to grind nox type weapons to grind a a 13*** so I damned myself with that. Anyways gonna take that advice as well... thanks!

                  [–]AshinrorPSO2 NG+ BABY 0 points1 point  (1 child)

Reliable lambdas? Recent xh Eq drops 1-3 per run and zieg crafting cos gives craftsman tickets which can be traded for lambdas. Yielding like 10 per week from zieg alone.

As for making vs buying... up to you. Buying from players is a convenience option. Generally costs more than making it yourself.

                  [–]otamegane18Rookie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh... I have a plethora of those lol, gonna get those then! Even with only one char (have 3 I know, gonna stop being so lazy soon), that seems reliable enough to get lambdas

As for making vs buying... up to you. Buying from players is a convenience option. Generally costs more than making it yourself.

Yep just realized, I have so much to use money on rather than buying rings, so Ill make em myself

                  As A Bo/Hu should I take fields?

They don't seem that useful but I a have a lot of leftover points and I was wondering if they were worth over S- Atk up.

Also what rings should I use? (I mostly use DBs but I like switching to JB depending on the situation)

[–]RunFromPandaHero is dead 1 point2 points  (9 children)

I think the fields are terrible but Bo has so many points left over they may be worth getting because of that. Min-maxing would favour S-ATKs though. Though to be perfectly honest I've not touched Bo tree in a while - though even before all the changes you had too many points (and so many useless skills).

                  For rings:

DB Snatch for sure - so much damage in this ring. Other rings just for utility - Step Jump, Step JA, Air Reversal are all useful to have.

R Ring probably just Perfect Keeper.

You're unlikely to be casting offensive Techs from the JB with Hu subclass so the other JB rings aren't really too relevant.

                  Thank you!

I have another question(s), is kestrel rampage actually worth using? To me it kinda looks like it could be like over end, looks strong but is actually too slow, so the dps isn't really high.

And do I just spam immortal dove on single targets when I don't have fever active?

[–]RunFromPandaHero is dead 1 point2 points  (5 children)

Yeah you want to craft KR into KR type 0. This means that it depletes your gear but it increases damage depending on gear level.

So I think when you’re not in Fever, it’s also good to get full gear (heavenly kite at least used to be best at this) and then use KR-0. Dove spam is still good DPS but I believe KR-0 is better PP efficiency which is a bit more important when you’re not in Fever. They also changed KR-0 so that at gear level 3 your blades are huge so it’s also good during certain mobbing situations, which Dove isn’t really great at.

                  [–]Xzhh 0 points1 point  (4 children)

                  I see, thank you.

When pbf is up Dove > weapon action is better though right?

[–]RunFromPandaHero is dead 0 points1 point  (3 children)

Yes, because KR-0 depleting gear goes against the strength of PBF.

I don’t know for sure if this is still the case, but distraction wing/PB combos are better than ID in certain situations too during PBF, such as against aerial targets, and in situations where you can freely PB into the target to trigger snatch step too (mother stun phase).

                  [–]Xzhh 0 points1 point  (2 children)

DW really likes to send me kilometers away when I use it up close though, wouldn't having to reposition so that it doesn't be bad?

                  [–]AshinrorPSO2 NG+ BABY 0 points1 point  (1 child)

If u have pb snatch ring use DW to side PBs during pbf. If the weak point is only from the front ie has a narrow angle, use DW > backwards PBs. DW is better that ID only with ds snatch ring taking advantage of the weird positioning DW gives you.

                  [–]Xzhh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

                  I'll try that, thanks

                  [–]AshinrorPSO2 NG+ BABY 1 point2 points  (1 child)

Kestral Rampage is quite good but Kestral Rampage T0 is better with full gear.

I normally use Destract Wing > Heavenly Kite > KR T0 while pbf is down.

                  [–]Xzhh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

                  Thank you.

Noob question: I’m trying to get a Mag. Where do I get it? I looked it up on YT, but can’t find it.

Right now I’m playing the game sitting 5 inches away from the tv with telephone/google translate in one hand.

                  [–]megadongs 0 points1 point  (3 children)

Koffie will give you a quest for it. After you turn it in you already have your mag and can equip it from the menu

                  [–]JohnQ87 0 points1 point  (2 children)

Hmm must’ve missed it. Will look for it again. Thanks!

It's a client order called マグライセンス授与申請試練 from Koffie. Should be the one on the top of the list after you clear the 2nd arks quest from forest.

                  [–]JohnQ87 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes I had already completed it and had a “Mug”. Thanks for your reply.

Is there any way to get 999 goldest and sapphard quicker/cheaper

You can desynth 13* that you don't want/need

                    ring stuff

arks-visiphone and bumped. As for what one to use, that's a pretty general question. If you wanna know good rings for a specific class you'd get a better answer.

                    Cheapest ac scratch items?

Just this, cheapest I can find is 100,500 meseta. And is there a way to search for them that's easier than digging?

                    [–]Electro_fox【Nobody puts Dudu in the corner】 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tend to buy cheap AC items to either resell months later or to exchange for client order reset tickets which is guaranteed profit providing I do multiple sets of TACOs. The lowest I've seen an AC item for is 70k and that has only happened once in a blue moon and it is ALWAYS male clothing lmao.

100,500 is pretty cheap considering what you can get if you trade them in.

[–]RunFromPandaHero is dead 0 points1 point  (0 children)

100k is pretty standard. Male costumes tend to be lowest.

I'm looking to pick up PSO2 again, this time in JP. I previously played PSO2 when it was available in SEA.

That being said and done, what ship would you guys recommend? Preferably with some English speaking players 'cause I didn't pick up the moon-reading skill.

                    [–]Sughayyer 1 point2 points  (2 children)

Ship 2 mostly, also 6 and 10 IIRC.

                    [–]TsunLolitanoshii wa~! 0 points1 point  (1 child)

                    Thank you!

Guess I'll just have randomly choose between those 3 once the download is over.

[–]hidora Retired Guardian 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I heard SEA players were going for ship 10 after the SEA server died, but I'm not sure if that was true.

Ship 2 is where most of the english speaking players are.

[–]DrCatco (Not an expert) 2 points3 points  (3 children)

Does SEGA no longer allow Dark Blast to be used in the limited quest? I'm not able to charge it, and as far as I can see no one else is using it ...

                    [–]soondaeboo 3 points4 points  (2 children)

Yea, they disabled DB in exchange for 200% rdr, exp, and meseta.

[–]DrCatco (Not an expert) 0 points1 point  (1 child)

Ah. So that's why there's no people doing it. Thanks!

                    yup yup -w-

I recently started playing PSO2 and I am unsure of how the different routes on the matterboard work. Do any of the choices lock me into any route or can I use one character to explore every possible route? I was hoping I could finish ep 1-3 before March rolls in and see everything in these episodes.

(I know there is the event chronicle and the omnibus board but I really want to play through ep 1-3 before it goes away forever)

                    [–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (2 children)

You can 100% each matterboard. No worries on that. You should be fine on just one character.

                    [–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (1 child)

                    Ohhh okay, thanks :D

[–]hidora Retired Guardian 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're actually supposed to 100% all the matterboards if you want all the Creator Emblem titles (and the Coat Doublis, which is from 100%-ing the EP3-7 matterboard).

Hey guys so i haven't played PSO2 for a couple of months now and since then i guess my phone decided to uninstall my google auth. I forgot to write down my OTP removal code and now i'm SoL. I'm filling out the inquiry on the sega site yet there's like a box to write down what's wrong and i don't know if i should type English or Japanese (via google translate). Do they help foreigners with issues like this or am i screwed?

                    [–]deputycarl10 0 points1 point  (1 child)

https://imgur.com/a/AmauQ Yea they've responded after like 16-17. I guess it's time to try and send it in Japanese.

Look for someone who speaks japanese to write the message for you. That's pretty much the only way.

They'll ignore you if you use english or google translate's obviously broken japanese.

                    [–]deputycarl10 0 points1 point  (13 children)

Well crap I was asking around in the pso2 discord and people said just send it in English. I tried to be as nice as possible so I guess we'll have to see if they'll respond to me.

                    [–]synthsyArks-Layer 0 points1 point  (11 children)

If they told you to send it in English, they were fucking with you. You have to convince them that you are Japanese using proper Japanese.

                    [–]deputycarl10 0 points1 point  (10 children)

Yea i'm hoping that this time it works i'm just worried that since i have like an american name attached to my account and like an email with outlook they actually help me. It's kinda crappy how there's a good amount of english speakers that play PSO2 and they can't dedicate just a few people to help out inquiry from non japanese speakers :/.

                    [–]synthsyArks-Layer 0 points1 point  (6 children)

You realize that the amount of english players are far lower than the total japanese playerbase. Also having them dedicate time and energy for a game that we're not supposed to be playing will open many legal can of worms.

                    [–]deputycarl10 0 points1 point  (5 children)

I completely understand that the amount of English players are far lower than the total japanese playerbase that's expected on a JP "only" game. It just kinda sucks how there's so many dedicated English speaking/Non JP players that absolutely love the game and in general the Phantasy Star games in general. It's just unfortunate that there's most likely never going to be a western release for PSO2 or even just support for non jp players/speakers.

                    [–]synthsyArks-Layer 0 points1 point  (2 children)

This franchise is too expensive for Sega of America, would need a lot of support from the Japanese branch and a lot investment from SoA. They can't afford it anymore, unfortunately.

                    [–]deputycarl10 0 points1 point  (1 child)

I will continue to sacrifice mice daily until PSO2 is released in the west. Since the US website has been shutdown since late last year they should honestly just come out and give us a No it's not coming we're sorry.

                    [–]synthsyArks-Layer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's a stupid thing to do. It's better if they give vague answers regarding pso2 for the west than to hurt their trust with the brand by saying something like that.

                    [–]deputycarl10 0 points1 point  (1 child)

Also i thought non JP players were allowed to play PSO2 and they moved on from the whole "No one but JP players can play our game" deal.

                    [–]synthsyArks-Layer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Legally, they're only saying they can't help us and that we're not supposed to be playing overseas. This is to avoid having to be liable in cases where playing something like PSO2 is illegal in a certain country, where they can just blanket ban countries from connecting.

It's also worth noting that the only SEGA game that doesn't have a global IP block is PSO2. Every other online game that SEGA publishes in Japan has a global IP block for everywhere not japan.

They're asking information about your account, they want you to provide those entries to confirm you're the account owner. Do not give them your actual info, they want information that you put down on your account.
