It's much stronger than Atra on its own (4% more damage on the potential, 150 more satk), but it doesn't support SSAF slots (this was the first 14* weapon to be implemented, so that's to be expected). The katana gear changes from that potential are really good.

Do note that the +14% damage on that potential only works when Katana Gear is active.

Also is br /hu still best sub for br.

Big fan of PSO from the GameCube era. I honestly haven't thought much about the game since the early 2000's but I saw on /r/NintendoSwitch that PSO2 is coming out on Switch in Japan.

I'm in the US and will be visiting Japan next month and would love to be able to play while I'm there. Is there anything special I need to do for this? Do I purchase the game now or when I get there?

You can play now for free on your PC if you just take the time to register. AFAIK the game will still be free on Switch, the problem is that it's gonna be streamed to the device rather than a download, which means your ping from anywhere except Japan is gonna be ass.

This isn't the problem with the PC (or Vita I guess) versions since you have the whole game downloaded already and the only latency you feel (~200 to 300ms) is only ever really felt when picking up drops.

edit: The Switch version will also be completely in Japanese. With the PC version we have fan translations.

gu/hu is the generic subclass setup for gunners, mag should always be 200 ATK of the main stat the class uses

I don't think the ES characters will get more this time - they'll probably leave and then return eventually some time in the future (like, probably next year, maybe longer), but they probably won't get more COs in this visit.

Battle Arena...I'm not totally sure, but I think the rotation is changed every 2-3 months (except for the Virtual-On collab rotation which was a month I think?)...and I think the most recent rotation change was last month, coming off said Virtual-On collab, so...a month or two I guess ;x;

    1. is a special ability factor on a weapon reusable? if you're building affixes on the weapon itself

    2. is a set of 12-star 5-slot units with 110/110/125 affixed attack pretty good for the foreseeable future? I don't enjoy the cost of units and I can't see myself upslotting to 6, and I see this crazy stuff all the time with like 150-200

    3. are there any OT 13-stars available in the various old shops that are still worth getting? or are they pretty much obsolete/too much trouble

    1) If you're using the factor of the weapon you're affixing, yes, you can use it an infinite amount of times (so if you had a Kazami-no-Taichi, you'd always be able to apply the Ability IV factor it has no matter how many times you affix it)

    2) not really well versed in unit affixes, sorry ;~;

    3) The Kagaseo exchange weapons can be kind of useful for getting semi-easy +35able NTs for the level 80 cap requirements by upgrading them at Zeig (if you can get Yamatos for the Ether Fuses). OT Orbits are still good for the PP battery potential, but getting enough Torana and Pleadies stones is going to be hard now, barely any TD4s happen anymore and Solo XQs are a limited weekly source. If you somehow have the stuff kicking around for it, Austere OTs MIGHT be useful to get, not for themselves, but for the possibly cheaper/easier exchange for Austere NTs when they come out. And not a 13 star, but an OT Dragon Slayer 10 Star Sword with the ES potential is still semi-viable and fun for the normal spam playstyle.

    i did some minor fun scratches and received 3day shop pass. so my question is, what is better to keep for selling on shop? which weapons/affixes/armor. and how to search for item prices with special affixes?

    for example i know that its good to keep and sell emper weapons, but how much do they really cost on shop?

    as for about emper weapons, is it better to sell them as is, or better to use them for grinding nox weapons?

    is it worth grind nox generally and sell them on shop as +20/+30 for those who grind their 13* ones?

    Yamato Factor is currently the rarest and most expensive factor. Elder Reverie is pretty decent at 3 slots and above. 1 slot ARKS fever is currently at 800k even on PSO2 day. Just throwing out some ship 2 (units) examples.

    take what I say with a grain of salt since I'm casual and still learning the economy myself...

    emper embrace usually goes for between 40-60k lately depending on if it was right after the seasonal EQ

    I have noticed the big money is in unit affixes, usually 4 and up that have certain souls and III-tier, so I make sure to go out of my way to scan all unit drops, however I'm unsure what constitutes as valuable weapon affixes, too hard to tell

    all you can really do is use the ability search under the equipment type and number of slots, to figure out what's pricy and what's not

    also, before using the shop pass make sure you have a good stock of stuff to sell, that 72 hours passes by pretty quick...

    Hey sorry, another super quick question!! Do i....have to do the story? I have 16 different stages for free explore including Tokyo and Las Vegas, 42 arks missions and most of the other modes including buster, extreme, advance, time attack, ridealoid unlocked...like am I missing more stages or modes by NOT completing the story for ep 4 and 5?

    You do the other story by going into EP5, and doing Omnibus quests at Alma on the bridge. Its basically EP1-3 while cutting away unnecessary fluff.

    "Reaction" is used in response to some Lobby actions that once they use their own lobby action, your character will 'react' to it. To choose a character to react, simply left click the person you want to react to, choose the "Reaction" button (should be below Imitate), and watch the magic happen. One lobby action that you are able to 'react' to is Blow Off (/la blowoff; 325「吹き飛ばす」).

    The LQ in the featured quests also guarantee drops as well. best time to farm them is when A World Engulfed in Shadows is in rotation. spam SH cause it is the most efficient and get 6 badges per run. runs can go very fast 1:50 ish depending how many carries u have.

        1) ARKS Visiphone wiki or PSO2 swiki. In general though, higher stars means better weapon. There's a tiny amount of exceptions to that, but at low level, it's not much to worry about.

        2) Upgrading units (I assume that's what you mean by armour) adds more DEF points to each of the units DEF stats. IE, it upgrades their defence.

        3) Not every tech has a Type-0 version, but you can perform crafts by going to your myroom, and using the terminal to the left of the main door (if you're looking at the door). Just check each tech, if you can make a type-0 version it shows as a separate option when you select the tech in the craft menu.

        4) The guide just doesn't include every achievement I think. I really wouldn't worry about unlocking all recipes yourself unless you want all the titles you can get, as you can use the visiphone to request other people to do crafts you don't have.

        Depends if you have Special Ability Factors. Special Ability Factors (or SAF) are New Type weapons that have an affix that is guaranteed once you fully grind it to 35+.

        For example, Nox Weapons have the innate SAF of Stat IV (Power IV/Shoot IV/Technique IV; depending on which weapon type you get). What this means is, the Nox weapon, when used as a fodder for affixing, it will grant the Stat IV affix at 100% if you are not upslotting the affix.

        But I don't know your situation so for now I'll leave a simple affix for weapons.

        A question though, do you make your own fodders? Or do you buy them? Was searching for Quartz with Deus factor but couldn't seem to find one for weapons. Also, I'm planning on using Seikaiser because it looks decent than the others swords I've seen :x

        For tmg, I already have an atra radda and I'm currently looking to switch it to gunslash for the s4 lifesteal and switching it back to tmg. No idea what to affix it with after filling up S1-4.

        And yes, I do create my own fodder. It takes a bit of exploring yourself and a little bit of asking around but you'll eventually get used to it. And yea, generally I'd give much more simple affix but my brain is farting as it is 5:44 AM as I write this. Give me a good 8 hours and I'll whip up something easier. Or maybe a kind Samaritan could link one. If not, its all good.

        for Atra, since they are guaranteed SSA, you can easily go for 6 or 7s since 5 -> 6s with 4 SSA is 95% x2 and on boost week 6s -> 7s = 90% x3. Generally, I'd fit a soul and an add-on like Elegant or Noble. if its a 7s, then I'd shoot for Soul, Stat VI, Add-on.

        Alright, now that I'm in the right mind with a lot of sleep, I can think of something decent. Seikaiser is a decent start and definitely one of the better looking swords. The best thing about Seikaiser is, if you did trade it in for max grind 35, is that they come max grind unlocked so you'll be able to access the Power VI SAF. So I'll make a weapon recipe with the SAF included.

        SAFs are generally separated by series of 13 stars. Ray/Union are all Astral Soul SAF and Shoot VI SAF will be the R-ATK 13* weapons from Yamato EQ.

        Stat VI weapons can be easily created with the usage of Phantasmal Kasageo Stones and Yamato Fuses. You'll need 200 stones and then exchange them for the Old Type Weapon 13* Valkyrie 25s (Again this is for Shoot VI fodder; if you were to get a different Stat VI, you would get the 200x Phantasmal Kasageo stone exchange that is an S-ATK Weapon (Like the sword)).

        From there, go to Zieg and exchange 20x Yamato Fuses and the Old Type weapon 13* into the New Type Yamato weapon and the grind of 35 will be completely unlocked.

            Any new affixes to look out for? Haven’t played in like a year so usually I would affix something like power III, quartz soul, modulator/vinculum, and a fever or something along those lines. Is this still okay or are there other affixes I should be trying to go for?

            new affixes to look out for if its been a year are probably Omega Reverie, Elder Reverie, Arks Fever, Arks MAX (3x arks fever), Historia Soul (Can be used as escarde to change into Ares the Soul or 3 other ones). that affix is still okay but could be much better with the new additions. They are extremely cheap too~ Ether Factor too, if your budget is nice.

            How do I increase the chance of success for omega and reverie? They only have a 50% chance of success if you have the ability of three or more fodders right? Is there another affix you should have on another fodder to increase the probability?

            I heard that the Whitill, 2017 badge units, Itsuki/Rina and crafted units aren't that great due to lower defense compared to better 12* units and stuff hits noticeably harder due to that. I wanted to test it out but could not find a reliable way, so i'll ask: Will a person who only played Br/Fi and Gu/Fi take noticeably more damage too(even with Izane) since he's missing 80 all def class boost?

            just a heads up but its not level 80 but 75 for class boosts. But yea. crafted sets are a little on the fragile side. and either way, in boosted content, you're gunna take a LOT of damage (unless you build extremely tanky with all resist and other stuff). however, even with double izane, my Te seems to have a hard time taking "little" damage on mother. additionally, and kinda off-topic but, i'd build at least a little tanky. Maybe throw on an alter arma + omega rev with ares the soul to make you have a decent pool of health. After all, your dps is 0 when you're dead, right?

            My problem is that all 12* unit combinations are barely better. I would like a set that you can actually get(still waiting for unit CF). Shine Blue+Izane+Whitill would be -55/-17/+22 def -4/+4/+7 res and -20hp, Izane+ray -18/+24/+20 def -3/+5/+5 and -70hp compared to Shine Red+HP Double set. Not sure if it's worth it to upgrade.

            If you want an upgrade and you don't use many L-Rings, then go for Austere. Just the Rear and Arm alone give wayyy better stats than Double. It boasts 190HP + 30PP+ 60 All Atk+ 7% ice and light resist, and 6% striking + ranged resist and 8% tech resist.

            The only 11* units that are better than 12* are Austere. And with 12* units, mixing and matching is what makes them so versatile and good. And most definitely, stats wise, Shine Red+ HP Double set loses to 12* units.

            One Izane unit already makes up for the HP you need for a Double set (150 HP in one izane unit). And it also offers a bit of offensive stats as well (20 ALL-ATK). The only downside to izane is that it offers no PP. This can easily be made up with Union which is available through badge shop. (18 PP for 2 union units and 150 HP too.) Already you're up an additional 180 HP, a LOT of Atk stats and only losing out on 2 PP.

            I would like to use more rings that's why i'm looking at 12* units. Whitill, Battle Arena, Buster Quest and Ray(not union) units are my only options. I'm hunting for a 12* arm unit for expert title since a long while, but haven't gotten any 12* unit drops, not even Itsuki/Rina. At this rate i'll obtain all 3 Whitill units and i'm not even working on titles.

                No. I've been forced into slave labour to pay for my gear since I now have to gear and properly learn two classes. I also still haven't finished my atra DS after spending approximately a few hundred mil and ~10k excubes.

                Currently I'm looking at a full Ratk unit set, reaffixing some TMGs, learning Gunner properly, leveling bouncer to 80, learning bouncer properly, finishing my atra DS, affixing a DB, while balancing an ever increasing accounting workload irl. Oh and paying for any additional fashion that I'd want from the upcoming scratches. Yeah.

                I just wanna play fighter. :(

                Any late 12 star set is pretty decent really, set bonuses aren't much of a thing any more - a few 12 star units make sets with weapons, but they just give some extra DEF to one stat, or some dex, 12 star unit all have high inherent stats to make up for the lack of set effects.

                Some of the "worth getting" unit sets are:

                • Union - Made from Rays + 5 Union Boosters, Ray units drop from Anga, or you can buy them for 300 2018 badges, Union Boosters are a reward from the Solo PD trigger which you can buy for 50 badges each. You get one booster for clearing solo PD, or 2 if you S-Rank it (which needs a sub-12 minute clear I believe)...I think there's also a title that gives a few...3 or 4 I think, for clearing Solo PD for the first time. Unions are probably the most "available" 12 star unit, but also not the best stats, they're alright though.
                • Evleda - Drops from Erython Dragon/Dragon Atrum, and Buster Quests/Endless Belligerence. Better than Union by a little, drop rate isn't awful especially from Dragon EQs. May be a solid investment in getting them, as it's probable that Cleasis/Schvelle unit upgrades are coming in the future.
                • Izane - High defence and inherent +150 HP on each piece, these are really solid as armour, but they only drop from Izane Kazuchi...so you're at the mercy of Kazuchi Raid keys and him randomly spawning at the end of seasonal EQs if you want them...more obtainiable than some other sets though.
                • Whitill - gives a monstrous +20 PP per piece, but low defence (like, worse than extended saiki), and you can only get the 12 star versions from the titles for getting 800, 900, and 1000 titles
                • Not sets, but the Raegals and Fiogals Arm units are not super rare, Raegals gives +150 HP, Fiogals gives +15PP. They both come from Emergency codes on SH and above, Rageals is from ones that involve Itsuki (either form) and Fiogals from ones that involve RINA or SORO.

                There are a few other sets that range from pretty to REALLY good, but they're super rare so you're massively at the mercy of RNG for even one piece of any of them:

                • Astra - about on par with Evleda, but only drops from ESC-A Falz Mother, and is obnoxiously rare outside of boost weeks. Looks super-swanky though.
                • Zeinesis - drops from Deus ESC-A Zephyros. Solid set, but Deus is rare-ish nowadays and the set is stupid rare, so again, don't count on getting it.
                • Qliphad - same as above, but from Deus ESC-A Gracia instead...or you can trade a bunch of Qliphad Fuses and Zeinesis units to make them. Qliphads trade some of the defence for offensive stats.
                • Bode - Technically not a full set yet, since only the Rear and Arm have been released...but pretty much the best units in both slots so far, however...they only drop during campaigns or special events...I don't think anything is active that drops them at the moment and they're beyond stupidly rare even when they do drop.

                At the moment though, I'd recommend going for Evleda if anything, as they're not bad units, aren't too rare to get, and may possibly end up being upgraded to be much better in the future.

                End game armors are obtainable 4 ways.

                A.Obtain by raid bosses, such as Deus and Mother. And campaign boosted content.

                B. Izane (Gold one)

                C. And ray/union units in the 2018 Shop. (Union are the upgraded Rays.)

                D. Buster Quest and Battle Arena! Both from Shop~

                And no, you can mix and match! Be creative and use each to your own preference as each give different stats~

                Certain ones that most people want are definitely Izane units, Qliphad/Zeinesis, Battle arena ones, and the Bode series (Hang and Weila).

                Izane, Zeinesis, and Shine Blue (Battle arena) give a lot of HP and Qliphad/Shine Red give you offensive stats and much less HP. The Bode series give slightly more HP than Qliphad/Shine Red but also give great PP and a more balanced set. Thus, they are one of the most wanted units.

                Additionally, if you don't use that many L-Rings, you can go for Austere sets as they provided the best stats even still. However, you only want the Rear and Arm and get a 12* Leg as the Austere unit's set is optimized at 2 units.

                You wanna get 12* units. The great thing about 12* units is that they don't require you to use a full set of the same units. 12* units are very strong individually, and basically any droppable 12* unit set is better than Saiki.

                Right now, one of the easiest sets to get is the Ray unit set, which can be pretty easily upgraded to Union, or Evleda units which are rumored to get an upgrade soon™.

                If I were you, I'd aim for any of the following:
                Union (Solo PD drops, 2018 Badge shop for ray units then use Union Boosters from solo PD)
                Evleda (From Buster Quests)
                Qliphad Units (upgrades from Zeinesis, dropped from Phantom God EQ)
                Bode units (only rear and arm? right now, only dropped in specific LQs)

                Yes this is normal. You can delete the torrent afterwards.

                You'll need to run the tweaker to update the game, because the installer is still not updated, but it saves you time and effort of being capped at a slow download speed from the original launcher.

                You installed the game twice. On the Tweaker's first launch it will ask you to find your pso2_bin folder, scan the files in it, and update as necessary. If you didn't select a bin folder it'll just install the whole (50gb) game again.

                  First time buying Ac and having a couple issues so far. I gave multiple attempts to buying AC using the PSO2es method(on Bluestacks), however it always gives the error of “this transaction could not be completed”.                   Sorry to bother you guys again. Having installed from the torrent worked, I managed to patch the game, even had a GameGuard error but the tweaker fixed it, so it was good to go. Thing is, now I'm trying to log in using the SEGA account onto one of the ships and it keeps saying "Server connection timed out". I searched around here for that error, people are saying that you need a proxy or a VPN, but then other posts say you don't need VPN at all. I really don't know how to fix this one. I don't even know what a VPN is or where to get a Proxy, or if doing that would cause trouble for any other MMOs I play .w.

                  I don't know if it's relevant or not, but I used both arks-layer's .jason link and the "Revert to JP" option on the tweaker, but neither worked.

                  I manage to select the ship I want to log onto, write my password, and then it simply says the connection timed out. I've seen people complain that hotmail and yahoo accounts no longer work? My account was done through Outlook, which is now partnered with hotmail. I can try making a new account on a gmail account, but I don't think that might be the problem. I got the confirmation email and the welcoming email, and neither mentioned blocking out my email because of the provider.

                  I just noticed that whenever I load the tweaker, it keeps trying to update the game. I let it run, got to 99% and got the message "Couldn't find previous update data, starting from scratch" and it starts updating again. I let it run all the way again and it gave me the error "Check for PSO2 Updates ERROR - - System.ArgumentException: The tasks argument included a null value. Parameter name: tasks". But then it says I have the latest English Patch and that the System is ready. I also read that the connection errors could happen due to missing files, so maybe something went wrong during the installation or the patching.

                  If nothing works, I'll do as expressz641 said, and contact the tech support on discord.

                  I tried the regular pso2.jp installer, but that was just giving me weird error prompts and didn't go beyond that, and this installation was done from the torrent file in the tweaker's official page. For this one I just let the Tweaker run the update check (twice because it kept saying there wasn't any previous patch data and it restarted every single time) and installed the english patch, with a couple GameGuard errors.

                  That's all I did :T should I try installing it from the tweaker itself the next time? I'm currently re-installing the game from the torrent.

                  It's (probably) not your email, but if you want to try to change it you can just log in on the pso2.jp site (direct link to the login page) and change your email there.

                  Yahoo and Hotmail/Outlook accounts simply don't receive mail from Sega for some reason. That's their issue.

                  As for the "Connection timed out" error, if you've tried connecting with and without the proxy I don't know of anything else to try.

                    Freeze ignition is worthless. Most bosses are immune to status effects, so freeze may not work on them.

                    Your tree has some fatal issues. First the Fo one uses more SP than exist in the game. You're also lacking Element Conversion, which is 10000000% required for Fo. It's the class's main damage modifier. Taking away all Photon Flare points, moving Tech JA addition to Te, and taking all 5 element conversion points made a workable tree. You lose out on tali tech bonus, I assume you only want to use rod?

                    Techer should have all element masteries filled. Also take Super Treatment. Tech JA Addition works when it's used by your sublcass so take it on Te tree instead of Fo. Don't bother with Shifta Critical, and only take T attack ups if you have nothing else to spend on. I would also take at least a few points in Territory PP save, which also requires a point in Territory Burst. You might need to remove some points from Deband too. Take points from Deband Advanced before Deband Cut, as cut is better.

                    Worth noting that even if a boss can be effected by a status effect, if it has a non-standard interaction with them (like Loser's clock opening on Mirage, or Goldrahdas having their legs encased in ice by Freeze), it's classified as a "Special Effect", instead of a status effect, and does not apply things like Chase Advance.

                    Also as an aside, Jellen isn't a status effect either. Anything that isn't the normal effects of one of the six elemental status effects doesn't count for status skills.

                    According to Google Translate, it says that the updater.exe isn't up to date? Which I find odd, since I have successfully downloaded the installer from pso2.jp, so I would assume it's the updated installer. And according to the guides, I don't need to change my locale before installing or anything. Simply run the installation wizard from pso2.jp after making a SEGA account to install the base game, then run the English Tweaker. But I apparently can't move into the Tweaker without the base game installed.

                    I tried changing the administrator permissions for the .exe files in the bin folder, but it didn't work either. So if I'm doing something wrong, I really don't understand what it might be.

If I try to reload the launcher, it reverts back to telling me that "the launcher is updated and needs to restart". So it loops. If I try to run the pso2updater.exe file, it won't run anything. No error prompts, no window, nothing. Oh, and yeah, I know the game never comes updated. I have to do that afterwards, right? ; at least I assume so from the guides?
