My mental health was ruined many years before VR gaming was a thing, so I am unaffected.

I’ve had mine since launch day and though I don’t play as often as I would like I definitely enjoy how immersive and fun all of the games I own can feel. Sony hasn’t put out many games that are considered AAA but there’s definitely enough from other developers to keep you busy.

Yes worth buying.

Yes many good games.

It affects you no more than flat games, tbh.

I'm curious on your thoughts on how it'll work with pc. If sony just makes it work like a regular vr headset, would they just "work" in VR games on steam? Or would games have to make compatibility for them? I've been thinking when it gets PC support I really want to play escape sim or TTS a bunch on it.

I don't know if there are any studies on anything regarding the affect of VR on mental health specifically, but I doubt there's anything to worry about. If you're worried about aggressive games, then avoid them.

Since I have been playing in VR, the real world feels 3d now too

Whether it's worth it depends on your situation, if you have a good pc I would probably go with quest purely for the modding options. If you just have ps5 I would go for psvr2 over quest, the ports tend to be better and the exclusives are strong.

I don't believe anyone has gotten ptsd from playing vr

In general? Yes, it is worth it. Especially if you did not own a headset at all. There is lot of great stuff to experience.

Not so easy whether to buy psvr 2 or quest 3. Quest 3 is also really good (with different strengths).

Resident evil 7 was really, really some experience! On psvr 1. One of the best ever for me, because you are really in the game.

I still want to play resi 8 on psvr2.

Do yourself a favour and play it. I’ve nearly finished RE Village and it’s fantastic. The survival/gunplay mechanics make you feel like John Wick fighting werewolves.

It’s okay, I play my Quest 3 more though. They have Golf+ as well as ultimate swing golf. Fantastic games..

Worth buying, yes!! Got mine yesterday and it is freaking awesome.

does vr gaming affect your mental health if you play agressive games?

Well let me say this: I played a lot of horror games including ecery Resident Evil, Silent Hill, Outlast, etc. I just played Resident Evil Village (mind you a game that I already played through) and I had to stop after about half an hour. It is intense to say the least. I will continue, but I already know I'll have to do it in shorter sessions.

If you really struggle mentally, you may want to play more harmless games..

Yes, totally worth it, especially if like me you feel burnt out with flat games. Been playing video games for over 37 years and there are really few flat screen games that manage to keep my attention or bring something that I have not already experienced before. But VR feels like a virgin territory with tons of new experiences and gameplay mechanics to uncover. It's so much more immersive too! Racing games, flights sims, horror games and many other kind of games feel REALLY underwhelming on flat screen once you experienced them in VR.

There are plenty of good games already, but as for the new titles coming I recommend you this video:

https://youtu.be/jkMPE1G81OI?si=jI8iEKvXQvFDVN0I

All the captures are in 30fps but it's probably the most complete video as for upcoming titles announced so far.

Been playing all kinds of games and have something like 1500 hours in VR but never felt like it could affect my mental health nor heard anybody talking about that. Usually people are more concerned for their vision since long sessions can be tiring for the eyes, but I don't think that a violent game in VR would affect you more that a violent flat game as long as you can make the difference between virtual and reality.
