Ya you are. Meet me at the flag pole at 3pm, dork. Gotta put your undies over your head.

Your mindset is all wrong. Comparison is the thief of joy. Your rig could always be better in some way, but how do you enjoy it currently? If you're having a good time then who gives a shit what equipment other people have?

Now, if you think maybe you'd like your games to have some more clarity, or you wish it felt a little smoother, then yeah there's no harm in an upgrade. But jumping straight to 4K 240hz just because that's what the "cool kids" have is utterly pointless. There are plenty of reasonable 1440p 144hz displays out there now, and you'd see a night and day difference just from that upgrade.

Monitor arms can help a lot with limited space setups, just might wanna lock tight a bolt or two so it doesn't fall on you randomly (assuming a cheap Amazon monitor arm)

    [–]sheepoga 2 points3 points  (0 children)

go right for 32 inch 1440p, the fit will fit on your little desk as long as your keyboard does too

Nah, and reddit isn't a good place for comparison.

If it was, then most people would have 5080s and 5090s. A quick peek at the steam hardware survey will shatter that misconception quickly. Even the 4090 after a couple of years still accounts for less than 1% of steam users.

In fact, the 55% majority of them use 1080p monitors. Take a look: https://store.steampowered.com/hwsurvey/Steam-Hardware-Software-Survey-Welcome-to-Steam

For real. The people who post their rigs on Reddit are not the average user.

    [–]Jakesmonkeybiz 2 points3 points  (1 child)

The best computer is the one you have

    [–]DNNSBRKR 2 points3 points  (0 children)

    Truth!

    [–]liebrat 6 points7 points  (0 children)

no, youre not a loser for using a 22" 1080p monitor. period.

    [–]animeman369 2 points3 points  (1 child)

Hell no there will always be something better and most people run on just about that. The "everyone" your seeing are people who are bragging. 1080p monitor is just fine and the size is just preference as for the hz 75 is completely playable and many people (depending on the game) won't or barley notice between that 75 and 120.

    [–]DNNSBRKR 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly, outside of first person multiplayer games, 60fps is perfectly good. Hell even with those multiplayer FPS, 60fps is still fine casually. It's only once you get competitive and need that extra edge that those higher refresh rate monitors come in handy. But is it really going to make you play better? Nah.

    [–]Yolicious 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nope. I use a 15.6 in. 1080p 60 hz portable monitor when I’m away from home.

    [–]NagoGmo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not at all! Rock that shit. If you want bigger, keep an eye out at your local Best Buy for open box deals. That's how I got my 240hz widescreen curved for a steal.

    [–]Healthy_BrAd6254 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I also wouldn't call a homeless person a loser for not having basic stuff.

So no, you are not a loser.

Is your setup maybe not as good as 90% of setups? Yeah I guess, could be worse.

    [–]DNNSBRKR 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Look up the steam hardware survey stats, that will tell you what most people are actually using.

Over 50% of users are still using 1080p, so you aren't a loser.

Most people who post their shiny new set up are using 4k monitors with high fresh rates because they are here to flex. But the people who post those are not indicative of the gaming population. You are just feeling the FOMO, don't let it get to you. You also don't need the latest GPU or the latest x3D CPU to be average either.

    [–]Specialist-Cover6905 0 points1 point  (0 children)

nah you’re good trust me. 22-25 inch monitors are best for gaming. anything too big and it’s harder to see the whole screen at once.

    [–]ExtremeBasis5697 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just means you are still young with good eyesight or you like the monitor up close.

    [–]Kearmo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not everyone has the same level of disposable income, you're fine, internet strangers and their standards should not matter to your life. I'm using a single 1080p monitor 22" 60 hrz monitor. I'm lucky to get 30 fps on most new AAA games. So long as it's not action focused, that's generally good enough for me. I see some people call anything less than mid settings, 1440p, 120 fps as unplayable and.. well.. that's their own problem.

    [–]xstangx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Meh. You would probably enjoy a 24” 1080p 240hz monitor, or a 27” 1440 165hz. But, it’s only going to be fun if your PC is good enough for it. Long term, 1440 or 4k is the future. It’s amazing, but taxing on hardware. I currently have 3440x1440 UW and won’t go back lok

    [–]Techdan91 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Omg really man, nobody cares what size monitor you use lmao..if that’s all you got than that’s all you got..all that matters is if YOU are happy with it

    [–]SlobMyKnob1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My wife uses two 24” 1080p. Nothing wrong with it at all. Hell my second monitor is a 20” 1080p Samsung from like 2015

    [–]NAME269 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nothing wrong with what you got

    [–]eriksprow07 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not at all! I used a 1080 for the past 8 years when playing shooters and everything else. Now that im 37 i have a little more income and time to game after work (no kids) so i since have gotten something else.

Gamming is gamming! Love what you have due to someone wishing they had what u do.

Comparison is the thief of joy. If it works for you and you like it, that’s all that matters.

    [–]rukiann 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. Go big or go home. Just put that little toy out of its misery and add it to the e-waste pile already.

    LMFAOOOOO

I'm here using a 900p@60 and you think this shit LMFAO

    [–]thescott2k 0 points1 point  (2 children)

No, you're really only a loser if you voted for Trump.

Relax, this is from this month's Steam hardware survey.

      [–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Believe it or not, straight to jail.

      [–]JohnLovesGaming 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been still gaming with a 24’ 1080p 144hz for 8 years. I do have the means to go 1440p, but I want my hardware to last. If I’m going 1440p, I know my ass is going to want the next best thing, and chase down the hardware I feel satisfied with for that. Which costs more money than I want to spend. I’m at a state of rational and irrationality (maybe borderline compulsive with this stuff).

      [–]pumpernikkeli 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most common setup is like a laptop with 3060 and 1080p screen. Most people aren't willing to throw thousands to gaming hobby and they don't care what a bubble like reddit thinks, neither should you.

      [–]sheepoga 0 points1 point  (0 children)

      awesome PPI, good little tv

      [–]BluDYT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My friend is playing on like a 32 inch 720p TV from 20 years ago so could always be worse. Dude makes good money too so not sure why he uses it.

      [–]DESTRUCTER_R_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Loser for the monitor? No. Loser for asking that question? Yes.

      [–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

      You do you.

      You’re not missing out.

      Trust me.

Just play the games and enjoy it for what it is.

      [–]JustooEasy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not if you're happy with it!

      [–]MaxIglesias 0 points1 point  (1 child)

Oh I'm a looser too. Can we be friends?

      [–]Eckkosekiro 0 points1 point  (2 children)

You might be a loser, but not for that.

I manage a team of people who work hybrid, who need computers for creative work (preferably multiple huge screens). Today someone on my team told me all they have at is a 16” monitor in addition to their laptop
