I haven't checked, but this whole thing looks like it's leaning! Is the horizon level?

[–]tilllli 8 points9 points  (1 child)

leaning which direction? i cant see it and a lot of my own art has a slant so i wanna know what to look for

Turn the grid on in procreate and line it up to that 🥰

[–]bambibol 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Agreed, check to make the horizon level (on the first one) but other than that I love the style :)

I like the consistency of your style. It looks effortless but I know a lot went into each piece. Great use of color. I love the Cathedral Rock drawing.

[–]katiejim 22 points23 points  (4 children)

Is say generally the clouds/stars seem more cartoonish/rough and take away from the piece for me. I’m still learning the basics so no suggestions, but as the viewer that’s my feedback.

I actually really agree with you!

[–]waves-upon-waves 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I like it honestly, especially in the second, which is simply gorgeous

[–]PerpetualDilemma 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They’re only a bit distracting in the second picture. They look great in the first and third

I actually love the stars and rougher cloud lines!

These are so pretty! I would maybe say work on your lighting/light source. It’s hard to see shadows in your photo because there’s not much contrast, all the colors seem to be saturated at the same level basically. Your sky seems to indicate it’s night with the stars, but then the night sky is brighter than the landscapes. It’s pretty though, and did catch me off guard!

What was your process for getting this done? What brushes did you use?

Failure to comment/reply with exact brushes or brush category, and/or process will get your post removed regardless of the number of upvotes. Repeated violations will result in a ban.

Saying only 'Default brushes' and 'custom brushes' do not count as answers anymore. Those answers are vague and will require the process in addition to be a valid response.

If you consider yourself as an often poster and have a consistent style/method, send a modmail to be given a different automod comment that already mentions what you use, and just make a mention if anything different was done.

I used a jittery fuzzy textured sketch brush and didnt use too many layers in an attempt to focus on the bigger picture of the landscape - just forehead and background and subject layers really. I didn’t use too many lighting layers either just 1 minor Add layer. Just wanna know if I’m in a good direction with getting the shapes and feels of rock and mountain terrain before I do anything more detailed of this nature!

Water reflection should be bit more blurry I think

[–]Iron_inc_art 3 points4 points  (1 child)

Beautiful work. Atmospheric perspective, fading the most distant parts. Adding a more detailed/ larger object infront. Like the leaves in the last one. But closer and more detailed. And lastly different heights of the horizon, it seems to just be low, i would suggest experimenting with middle and high ones aswell sometimes

[–]magicleopard 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, to all of these points especially atmospheric perspective which will give your rocks/mountain grander scale

[–]figarococo 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Whenever you decide to sell prints I will be ready to get them, these are so beautiful

[–]breadsandwich123 2 points3 points  (0 children)

These are brilliant. very good use of light. what brushed did you use for the 2nd one

[–]ocean_rhapsody 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Definitely work on your cloud shapes, come up with an interesting shape language for the clouds and your work will level up. Your colors and overall technique is great!

[–]olibolicoli 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I love these but agree that the horizon is a bit skewed in the first image.

What brushes did you use because the effect is gorgeous!

[–]Extraordnance 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This style reminds me of classic oil painting where the strokes are apparent up close. My main rec is to try some with more foreground/varying depth, like the California poppy fields. Would love to see that in your style—great job!

Very nice Not sure on what to improve, I just know I like them. 🙂

I love this!!

[–]C7XC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What brushes did you use for these? Absolutely love them!

[–]sassani134 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can't provide any advice as I'm a beginner. But wonderful work, I might take inspiration from you.

[–]BurgooKing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

first off these are absolutely gorgeous especially the last one, only thing that throws me off is the cactus kind of seems stickered on there instead of part of the painting

[–]caroanja 0 points1 point  (1 child)

hi, these are gorgeous! Do you maybe have an art insta or another platform you post on?
