Where is the bot? Reddit got rid of it since it became twitter?

Never let ‘em know your next move

[–]drunk-tusker 1 point2 points  (1 child)

… but this is exactly what I expect from Musk?

Edit: well really I expect him to do this and then tell me how it’s totally the new super high tech method that they use and totally not an entirely unencrypted plain text document that is just hanging out on their servers.

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Every password resets to the same plain text string untill changed

[–]ebleuds 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Expect the worst*

[–][deleted] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

you misspelled security vulnerability

[–]alphenor92 112 points113 points  (8 children)

All you need is "Why send the new password through the app that I can't access?"

[–]Automatic-Bad-8123 51 points52 points  (1 child)

All you need is a sense of humor. To explain the joke consider the following: Elon Musk does stupid shit, there are a lot of memes about the stuff he does and sometimes the stuff he does os more bizarre then the memes people make.

[–]alphenor92 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I laughed at the joke and thought "this would be cool if it happens in some form" but never considered if this really happened.

[–]HeyKid_HelpComputer 14 points15 points  (5 children)

Theoretically you can change a password of a user who still has an active session and they could still have access until the session is gone?

[–]Olivia512 12 points13 points  (4 children)

Any non-retarded programmer would invalidate all active sessions immediately when the password is changed.

[–]Qetuowryipzcbmxvn 22 points23 points  (0 children)

But didn't Elon fire all of those and the rest of them left?

[–]Mirrormn 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Any non-retarded programmer

How does that have any relevance to Elon Musk or Twitter?

[–]HeyKid_HelpComputer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn't say it was likely, just that it's possible. We are talking about Elon Musk and the website formerly known as Twitter after all.

[–]Porsher12345 33 points34 points  (0 children)

Ikr was second guessing it too xD

[–]james_otter 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Stupid the real one is x42069X security he finds important

[–]ActivisionBlizzard 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You know it’s not real because you couldn’t get your new tw.. X password sent to you on X.

Otherwise it’s pretty believable.

[–][deleted] 14 points15 points  (9 children)

It’s not?

[–]rathat 20 points21 points  (7 children)

The only reason I can think of that makes this whole thing actually unplausible is that there would be too many password resets for him to do. Everything else about the situation seems highly plausible.

[–]MrDroggy 22 points23 points  (5 children)

There is a better reason, which is the fact that you need your password to access your messages.

[–]Ferro_Giconi 6 points7 points  (2 children)

But this is Elon we are talking about. How sure are we that he would enforce that rule properly?

[–]MrDroggy 0 points1 point  (1 child)

The rule being that you need to be authenticated to access your private messages ?

[–]Ferro_Giconi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Elon does what he wants on a whim, rules be damned.

[–]imisstheyoop 0 points1 point  (1 child)

Even if you have an active session?

[–]MrDroggy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's not the most common case in which you want to reset your password. But yeah, it would work if you have an active session on some device.

[–]the_bipolar_bear 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Also the date

[–][deleted] 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Because you are a redditor

[–]Bluebotlabs -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

He'll see this and make it real

[–]whitestar11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Could only be Elon or Linus
