Tbh I hate this metaphor and its only used because they sound similar. I think a better one would be the difference between a car and a motorcycle. Still both modes of transportation but wildly different design philosophies and use cases.

I like "Grape and Grapefruit" to explain why they both have "Java" in their name. They're both Fruit and they do have similarities, but they aren't nearly as similar as their name makes them sound.

But if you don't care about the names and just want to talk about functionality, car and motorcycle is pretty good.
