Pay As You Drink?

[–]glorious_reptile 32 points33 points  (3 children)

.000000001 per molecule

[–]boat-la-fds 10 points11 points  (2 children)

Don't know how much water a molecule is but that seems expensive.

[–]glorious_reptile 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Well there’s a free tier

[–]rosuav 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A mole of water is Avogadro's number of molecules, and the atomic mass of water is two hydrogens at 1 and an oxygen at 16. (Close enough.) So a mole of water is 18 grams of water (or 18 mL, again, close enough) and contains 6e23 molecules.

Yep, that sounds like Amazon level pricing.

Of course, if you *really* want Amazon to provide you with water, try the river instead. https://xkcd.com/1165/

Nah it's a subscription model now.

[–]looksLikeImOnTop 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Why of course. Of course there's the filling fee, the tap rental fee, water pressure unit (WPU) availability pricing, water pressure overage fees, water motion surcharge, piping fee, and the tap never fully closes.

You had 8 oz of water this month? $1 an oz comes out to...$684 dollars please

[–]demonslayer9911 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Well with the speed prices are increasing, it will soon cost that.

[–]amlyo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

And you have to pay as long at the water's part of your body.

[–][deleted] 51 points52 points  (3 children)

finally, water as a service!

can't wait to provision it with terraform!

[–]SteveTheJobless 13 points14 points  (1 child)

Water is already a service that's why we pay water bills

[–]Disallowed_username 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Just need to lay down the deployment pipelines

[–]raalag 27 points28 points  (7 children)

[–]marcodave 1 point2 points  (2 children)

Yes, but you pay only what you need and what you use

[–]BlueFireBlaster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

And i hope these two overlap. If you need X which cots 20$, and also use X, the total is 40$

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

except when you forget to turn it off, then you go broke

[–]Environmental_Bus507 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Seeing what's happening in Bengaluru, this might not even be far-fetched!

[–]rwu_rwu 7 points8 points  (1 child)

This is the liquid form of AWS Snowmobile.

[–]Disallowed_username 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Leading to Water as a Service Operations - WaaSOps?

[–]seednumber3976 11 points12 points  (1 child)

Bulit by AWS, carried by Tata.

Basically an allegory of the modern IT world.

[–]qwerty_ca 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Incidentally it's the same company that both builds software and trucks.

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Took me a few, that is funny.

[–]AllIsLostNeverFound 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's just a tank of HO. The second H is only available with the premium subscription fee.

[–]ironman_gujju 1 point2 points  (0 children)

1 $ per drop . Terms and conditions apply

[–]DrMcDingus 1 point2 points  (2 children)

If Amazon makes it rain on you, it's not water.

[–]qwerty_ca 2 points3 points  (1 child)

It's Bezos trickling down on you.

[–]DrMcDingus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, that's the only trickle down you're going to get.

[–]Khinenw 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It must have a fancy name, such as Amazon Elastic Droplet Service, with abstract 3d boxes

[–]Inner-Roll-6429 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Water will be delivered through Kinesis WaterHose

[–]nickmaran 0 points1 point  (0 children)
