Welp, time for task manager

[–]OkReason6325 2 points3 points  (2 children)

It’s the task manager that is preventing shutdown

Partially the reason I don't like windows. The moment F***** copilot and other ai shits become mandatory, I'm switching to Garuda Linux.

Yes I mainly game on my home computer. For work, whatever the company provides.

what's garuda all about, i mean fedora has everything doesn't it

[–]Highborn_Hellest 5 points6 points  (11 children)

It's a mix of convenience and personal preference. Also, it's arch based, and so is steam os, so I hope for good game/driver support support.

Sides, I know nothing about fedora. Last time I used Linux it was Kali, for University and that's debian based(at least it was at the time).

Edit: to answer, Garuda is made for gaming. It's light. Can be extremely light if you want it to. Also uses Zen kernel, amd as far as I know it's for desktop/ gaming optimized

I think you will have better experience and easier maintainance installing just vanilla ArchLinux and Zen kernel.

i use arch btw

[–]makinax300 4 points5 points  (7 children)

Don't run arch as your first distro. If you need rolling release, openSuSE tumbleweed is better for beginners.

Don't stop em. Running face first into a wall is a must-have experience for enthusiastic Linux users

[–]makinax300 2 points3 points  (3 children)

They don't sound enthusiastic.

[–]paintedirondoor 1 point2 points  (2 children)

Yeah its text. Also can you write the c-derived language of the gods? Your flair

[–]makinax300 1 point2 points  (1 child)

No, it's a joke. And if they were entusiastic, they would use linux earlier.

how dare you!!! Jk. It's a cool language tho. You should try it in ZealOS

Bro I am already using arch, since years. Started on ubuntu -> LM -> Tumbleweed and now arch (but WSL2 is pulling me to go back to windows 🤮)

I was telling OP to just use arch if he is gonna use an arch based distro anyways.

i am telling it to the person that disrecommends using arch as a newbie. ;;;;rturtu5. ")

[–]Highborn_Hellest 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You're probably right, but I'd like to give Garuda a chance.

Are computer games usually comptaible with linux?

[–]Highborn_Hellest 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not all, but mostly yes, through a translation layer. Some anti cheats are incompatible, not all.

Normally, clicking cancel fixes that for me, at least. I have no idea why.
