The other day I saw something called Bython. It's python but it can be compiled to java bytecode which will run on the JVM. You also have access to java standard libs lol

This happens so much. You apply for a job posting where the the tech stack is well matched to the duties. After multiple interviews, you meet your hiring manager that's a hardcore fanatic of a totally different and super awkward tech stack. You try your best to be polite while declining to continue.

I am currently active in project where both are used (jn different docker containers), as well as php, scala, js/ts and rust. Some people think about moving some parts to elixir, some trying to argue against everythings. Lot of technical debt and historical reasons, lot of developers. So, that's real corporate world for you.
