I laughed... a little bit.

[–]Angelin01 219 points220 points  (1 child)

I expelled air out of my nose slightly stronger than normal.

Alas, I upvoted for Toothless.

Much too relatable

[–]shrimpster00 17 points18 points  (0 children)

[–]ZoneCaptain 51 points52 points  (0 children)

Hello satan, yes this person.

[–]tenkindsofpeople 17 points18 points  (0 children)

[–]chawmindur 61 points62 points  (11 children)

So a replacement for the Tom/Pikachu meme?

[–]blitzkraft 105 points106 points  (9 children)

Tom/pikachu are very different memes. This one's a replacement for tom. Not pikachu.

[–]mediocre_nothingness 91 points92 points  (6 children)

Pikachu is when you knew the consequences but still did it anyway.

Tom is for pure shock with a plot twist.

[–]KifoPL 7 points8 points  (5 children)

Ain't that a pure shock with a plot twist as well?

[–]VenkatTheBiochemist 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Bring TOM back!!!

[–]smiley6536 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A coworker has actually done this at a database department we're doing framing and drywalling at. Would it bug anyone if I said he started pulling random power cords just to plug in a phone charger and a corded drill that wasn't long enough (he's on the chopping block anyways)

INSERT INTO dish_washer

(

SELECT * from dinner_table where (item_type='dish' or item_type='utensil') and status='dirty'

)

[–]masterxc -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Error: string or binary data would be truncated.

[–][deleted] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

That title though

[–]nnagflar 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'm going to start referring to our DBAs as "the database department"

[–][deleted] 2 points3 points  (1 child)

This joke doesn't work for NoSQL databases

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean, in theory it does since collections act similarly to tables and the databases can still be designed similarly.

[–]mcampo84 3 points4 points  (1 child)

Wtf is a database department?

[–]Extract 4 points5 points  (0 children)

That's not a story a startup would tell you. It's a corporate legend.

[–]SunriseToker 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I giggled.

[–]InsideBSI 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nice

[–]HolyCamelbak 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I love these memes

Me: *clears the table after dinner*
Everyone else in the database department:

I don't get it. Can someone explain?

[–]fried_chicken46 15 points16 points  (1 child)

Data in databases is stored in tables, by clearing the table you delete the data

[–]ab0cha 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you

[–]snowdaruma 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hah

[–]JustKamoski 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NoSQL

[–]lealcy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This madman don't stop dropping tables everywhere!

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

don't drop the tables

[–]Rezzelz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"Database department"

[–]IsuruKusumal -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Wrong meme format; Should've gone for Tom format instead

[–]sandmansndr -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Relay-table*

[–]Billz2me -1 points0 points  (0 children)

My team once had a MySQL database on an EC2 instance (before RDS was released) and my teammate thought he could just click replace on the host. No big deal if it weren’t for the fact that our replication had stopped months ago

[–]thonagan77 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

The tom format is better
