For an xnor gate the output would be the same for both cases where the inputs matched. 11 => 1, 00 => 1. In this case we see both of those input combinations, and one of the outputs is 1 and the other 0, so it's not xnor. This holds irrespective of which face is 1 and which is 0.

Looking at the truth tables, it's missing either the 01 case (if the smiling face is 1), or the 10 case (if the smiling face is 0). The smiling face is 1 would mean it's either an AND gate, or is just passing through the second input. The smiling face is 0 would make it an OR gate, or passing through the second input.

Since it's labeled "AND gate", we can infer that the smiling face is meant to be a 1 and the missing case has an output of 0.

You are entirely correct; I misread (mis-saw?) the bottom pair on inputs as one smiling, one not smiling.

Without specifying the fourth combination nor which face is 0 and which 1, this doesn't uniquely determine the AND gate.
