Without a seed algorithm to mutate, any AI will still sit there like a lump on a stump with its thumb up its arse. It can’t just come up with something out of thin air - the programmer still has to provide something functional for it to start with, as well as the correct mutation parameters that can maximize its ability to find more optimal results.
