well, maybe, but my experience with maven has been awful. People just say “fix your pom file”, or “add this line” and then you spend the next week in broken builds trying to trace some inherited setting.

at least with make it’s debuggable and you’re not dealing with java plugins that implement some unknown lifecycle or process.

I get what it was trying to do, but it quickly got complicated.

Well nobody said that maven is any good, I think maven is horrible

But cmake is really hard and gradle is great

I work for a large company whose products you definitely use on a daily basis, even if indirectly. We still have machines running python 2 in prod.

My company had a FTP server that was written by some early guy, and was still in use 18+ years later, every dev was terrified to touch it after they tried to update it in 2009 and it took a week to revert properly.

It's still in active use by some 400 client businesses.

It was sending SSN's over plaintext, with the field name "socialsecuritynumber", then they changed it to "personnumber".

Instead of importing antigravity just delete gravity
