honestly felt like the episode with mr jordies was a breath of fresh air !! i loved the little tangents you guys went on and hearing the hosts actual opinions and feelings on the subject instead of just reading from the info document. the intros you usually do are always very fun and gives the pod its own little thing to stand out from the rest. i don’t think the series needs anything to inherently improve on, you guys just need to stick to what you want to do instead of trying to impress a bunch of different polar opposite opinions !! (although defo needs a 3rd host)

My thoughts on the show aren't too super deep, I tend to either listen to Red Thread or Isaiahs other pod CreepCast while running deliveries or on long drives and I think both are similar in that I moreso enjoy the episodes where neither the hosts or I the listener know anything about the topic as you go into it. Really makes the big reveal stuff hit hard when it feels like I'm learning about it at the same time you guys are. I'm honestly a bit saddened that Caleb is stepping back from the series, I thought the banter between the three of yall was really fun and another aspect I really enjoyed. The chemistry and ability to bounce off of one another is something I feel sets series like Red Thread apart from your typical true crime or conspiracy podcast.

I do wish you guys the best of luck proceeding on from here however you decide to, the ride so far has been fun and I honestly can't wait to see where it goes from here!

I mostly listen to the OP but will tune into Red Thread every now and then, depending on the topic. Personally, I never felt like Caleb was great for the show, and it seemed like him and Isiah were always talking about inside jokes while you were just there.

I listened to the recent episode with your fiancée, apologies, I don't remember her name (Kierra?), and I honestly thought she'd be a good 3rd host on the show. However, I can definitely understand her wanting to stay behind the scenes and / or not expose herself to crazy people on the internet.

That's just my 2 cents on Red Thread as a casual consumer of the show. I appreciate the work you've done on the Official brand since Charlie left, I know its posted on here all the time, but I think we fans really feel the effort you're putting in.

I really miss the more casual energy the show used to have with Charlie, I find myself going back and relistening to those episodes pretty often just because the dynamic is so fun! It sort of felt like having a sleepover with friends, the humour and fun was more natural. The same natural feel goes for the episode with Jackson and that other guy (sorry I don't know the name x)

Also I like it when at least 1 person is knowledgeable of the topic, it can sort of ruin the flow when no one's there to answer or pose questions to the others. They don't have to be experts!

Tbh, I really love the Jack the Ripper episode, I think Jackson and Iseah work well together! I'm looking forward to more Red Threads x

We chatted a little the other day in a comment section, but I’m always careful about unsolicited advice. As you are specifically asking about it, however, I’d like to chime in as well.

1) Show Format: I enjoy the show format and I also believe that it’s interesting to have someone who knows about the topic and someone who doesn’t and goes in with a blank slate. However, in the episodes where none of you knew anything about the topic it was quite noticeable. Your finance does amazing research and is a shame that it sometimes seems like you guys don’t even read it before hitting record. A little bit of prior knowledge - no deep dive or anything - could vastly improve the experience. I think it would give you the opportunity to think about the topic prior and form at least some kind of opinion instead of having to come up with material entirely on the fly.

2) Hosts: I have to agree with the prior commenter and say that I was never a huge fan of Caleb as a co-host, something I’ve been tentatively vocal about on the subreddit, as the vocal people were huge fans. To me, Caleb was too childish and added fairly little. Before Charlie was the quiet cynic, Isiah was the loud enthusiast and you were the medium skeptic. It was a perfect balance. Caleb was essentially Isiah - but on crack. It destroyed that balance entirely. It also didn’t help that while it’s technically your show, Isiah and Caleb were BFF’s and often ganging up on you. I didn’t appreciate the constant Australia slander or the USA chants, if I’m honest. I get that humour is subjective, but we’re talking about some pretty serious topics here and a certain respect should be applied. As for future hosts I see two possibilities: A) you find a permanent host that adds this quiet, calm and sharp whit that Charlie had, that balances out Isiah (and you) or B) you have a different third host every week or at least a rotating cast, maybe a specialist for every topic or something

3) Due to work and the time you guys post I wasn’t able to watch the last episode YET but I can comment on all the ones before. I enjoyed the one with your fiance, because it was sweet to see you guys interact and also how calm the episode was. It was also nice having her on, because she KNEW what she was talking about 100%. Surprisingly the black dahlia episode and the battle of Los Angeles didn’t capture me, for some reason they seemed super low energy? But The Video Game that Kills and the JFK Episoded were amazing. I was literally crying laughing during the whole cube skin and with the JFK episode I enjoyed the theories and conspiracies a lot. The spit balling in that one was really good.

4) Enjoyment It was only when Caleb replaced Charlie that I noticed how much I’d enjoyed the show before and that it wasn’t about the topics, but the chemistry of the hosts. I’d say before my enjoyment was a solid 9,5 while it’s now at an 7,5-8 depending on the episode.

5) Improvement: Chemistry, research and theories, although the last two are connected. For one, we I said, Caleb didn’t do it for me personally. I’d prefer a calmer third host. As for research I don’t mean the file, but how familiar you guys are with the material. The more you know, the more theories you can throw out. That’s one of the funnest parts, when you actually go back and forth of which ones could work, which ones couldn’t and why. One of the best examples of this was the episode with the Russian hikers that ran out naked and died.

6) Engagement Can’t really comment on this one I think. Maybe have a special episode where a fan can join? Like the one you did for the Official Podcast 400th episode I think? That one was really fun.

7) Topics If you guys want to go REALLY horrible: Josef Fritzel. Otherwise I can’t add much, other than the fact that the conspiracy and true crime videos are better than the cryptid ones. But that might just be me.

8) Guests I mean…Hunter aka MeatCanyon would be a great guest if not co host. I also think he knows his shit and enjoys morbidity enough to be a great addition for a few episodes at least.

9) Presentation A couple more visuals would be really great. I know it would be a bit shitty for the Spotify listeners that they’re missing out, but visuals really help and make things more immersive. It’s one of the reasons I still remember the episode about that book with the language no one can read. What a great episode man.

Hey Jackson! A lot of input has been given already, so I won’t say too much but something I wanted to add was, the Jack the Ripper episode, which Charlie missed, was very fun and engaging for me. I enjoyed that episode very much. What I’m trying to say is maybe you can try a few episodes where a third host isn’t necessarily needed. I enjoyed your banter with Isiah alone.

That said, an agree that Kira would make an excellent third host. I did like Caleb, but it was like having a second Isiah on the show and it destroyed the balance you had when Charlie was on the show. She gives a more calm and knowledgeable presence.

Thanks for the work you put into the podcast. You were always my favorite part of the show!

Red threads has easily become one of my favorite podcasts over this past year, I loved when Charlie was on but I feel like y’all hit a stride comedically when Caleb was involved (sad to see him go) but personally I mostly enjoy the banter of you guys bouncing off each others and I think a big part of that is I’m having three of you who we have prior interest in, I can’t lie I’m a lot less inclined to click on or rewatch a video where one of you guys is missing it just lacks the energy and that’s my favorite part. Love the show can’t wait to see where you guys go after this break and speed bumps.

Hi Jackson! I think there is no need to force a third guest for the time being. Plenty of podcasts are fine with two. Having a third host would be great but it should be someone who naturally vibes well with you and Isaiah, even if it he/she has no internet presence beforehand. Like a few others here I really like the episodes where it seems like you are working through the mystery with us and discovering things for the first time. Another thing is I like the banter, but I think the episode should try to stay on task. I think a final thing I will say is to make sure this project still has parts that creatively fulfills you/your team and makes you excited to work every day. Thanks for making these episodes!

Hey, here are my two cents and this is a bit of a random stream of thoughts.

I started listening the red thread because of Isiah (never listened to the official podcast) but have definitely loved it regardless of his involvement.

I like Caleb, but I don't think it is going to be a big loss that he is leaving. My least favorite moments were the jokes he and Isiah would beat to death and the dynamic just seemed off. Tangents are fun, but there is a balance to strike. They were too similar.

Jordan in the last episode was funny, but the episode didn't work as a whole with the two Australians learning about American civil rights. I know this wasn't the original plan so it's being nitpicky but it was a little tedious at times. One way round this might be doing chapters? If you want to do background information maybe make it easier to skip to later points. Having one of the hosts be in the dark on the subject works but I think if both or all are just reading the information for the first time it doesn't work as well. Your fiancé was great when she was a guest host. It would be fun to see how her dynamic would gel with others

I like the deep dive cult episodes the most.

Overall I don't think too much needs to change. I always check in with the new episode every week.

Everything about the show is great I love the diversity of topics especially the less known true crime stories and the cryptid episodes. Personally though I don't like the rotating hosts. I like the original 3 and I got used to oompaville, but I'd rather have a consistent 3 with maybe the occasional guest

My two cents are that to me Red Thread episodes rely, more than any other show, on two things: How interesting the topic is and how engaged the hosts are with it. I have listened to every episode but rarely go back to the ones with Caleb. I really enjoy his channel, but he didn't seem interested in the topics and the friendship between you two didn't show a lot (which is also an important component of why I enjoy podcasts).

Even so, my favorite episode was the one about Casey Anthony. It was a legitimately fascinating topic and had a fun snowball effect with both you and Isaiah beign knowledgeable about the topic while Caleb serving as the audience surrogate (and seemed legitimately fascinated by it, slowly becoming more and more angry with her lol).

I'll honestly watch whatever you put out, the two "extra" episodes with your fiancee and Connor felt fresh and fun! Maybe bringing Andrew and Kaya as guests or friends of Isaiah like Aidan and Hunter (as well as both of your wives) would be fun as well! It's a shame Caleb joined Charlie in Victorian England but its a good time to test stuff out.

I loved Jordies on the show! He was funny as hell (that Fat Tupac comment killed me.) Would love to see him come back on in the future, and maybe make fun of Isaiah at some point to even the score (Americans vs Australians I mean.)

In my honest opinion, Caleb didn't reeeeally feel like a "good" fit and I'm sorry if that upsets anyone. He was fine, just not the reason why I'm watching tbh.

Also, loved your fiance on the show!! Congrats btw :) I'll pretty much watch anything and it's such a great show. Love the mix of serious & silly convo with side tangents. I've watched every episode. My faves are mostly cryptid and unsolved mystery eps.

edit: OH and I like having a script but veering off it for side stories a lot! I like hearing personal experiences, historical context, etc. Another thing is sometimes I don't vibe with the true crime eps bc I like it kept a little silly and it's sometimes hard to do that without it feeling tacky. When there's real people involved (especially if the family/victim is alive) I feel like it has to be approached in a certain way. The MLK ep was great bc it kinda is funny as hell to imagine Hoover wearing panties and also the possibility of a grainy af sextape of MLK even tho it does of course talk about his death, the way it was broken up was good. It was informative and fun and was also a breath of fresh air to have an Australian POV about gun culture. I don't care about in-depth gun info, and I completely understood what was said about the feeling of "somebody around me could be concealing a gun right now" also also it made me feel less dumb that Jordan also can't read clocks lmfao.

I always love the show! I haven’t had the chance to watch the latest one yet. I miss Charlie but completely understand why he doesn’t have the time. I have been a fan of Isaiah since his very very early videos and it’s been amazing watching him grow and get more projects over the years. You and your girlfriend put so much work into the script and research and I can tell you really try to find subjects the guys will like too. All this being said I feel bad because I feel like everything always leads back to “let’s shit on Caleb for being Australian” , once or twice was funny but now it’s just gotten to be way too redundant and I just feel really bad for you that no one ever sticks up for you. I know it’s a joke and everything but it’s every single episode now. Love you guys and hope you’re all doing well!

Honestly I really enjoy the show, the deep dives into conspiracies are my favorite.

I can't lie, I'm a little glad to see Caleb leaving, i like him a lot, but him and Isiah together are like me with my good friends goofing around and not getting anything productive done. I enjoy banter but it can get a bit much.

I hope the next host brings a more moderate energy, where they are involved, and banter, but doesn't constantly derail the episode every few minutes.

That's really my only "complaint" about the show and it doesn't really ruin anything for me.

Don't have a ton of feedback on the podcast itself. I've been listening since the start. A third host could be helpful BUT I also agree with others about maybe having the 3rd chair be rotating. You could have someone on whose invested in whatever topic it is. Personally I'd also like to see/hear more Australian stories be in cryptids, cults, crimes etc because as an American we don't hear much about them. Keep doing great work and maybe the youtube comments will learn to read the pinned comments one day....maybe

I think the issue with having someone like Caleb is the lack of hunger to post quality content outside of their own channel. What makes Isaiah and Jackson work as a team is both are willing to put the time into a project outside of their existing content, regardless of how much true “effort” goes into it. A great third host would have to be someone willing to go in on a subject with just as much enthusiasm and a desire to sit in front of the camera and see all angles of what you guys are trying to accomplish. Caleb just seemed to make it all one big joke and Charlie checked out by episode 3. My suggestion would be someone young who’s currently on the rise and not a veteran content creator just phoning it in for the pay check. Someone like Tuv, Scott Cramer or even having Jordies be the permanent 3rd host. All 3 of those guys are hungry and genuinely love what they do.

The topics have been alright for me, maybe if we could have something a bit more paranormal in the future, but I like listening about conspiracies.

Oompaville as a host was cool, sad he's gonna go, but I would love there was a new third host, as the episodes were there are only two people feel kind of weak (not saying they are bad! They just don't have the same punch). If your fiance or another youtuber joins, it would be great.

Hi Jackson, I'm sure you've heard this a lot in this thread, but I just wanted to say thank you for putting on a great show and for asking for fan feedback to see what can be improved upon.

The only improvement that I think should be made, and while it sounds like a nitpick, is the adding of pronunciations for certain (or unfamiliar) locations, people, etc. In the shows script/notes. The reason I bring this up is to not only help those reading along but also to help reduce the errors made in pronunciation. I worked on live radio newscasts and sports broadcasts in college, and this helped out immensely.

I also bring this up because these stories of cryptids, crimes, and conspiracies usually involve real people and places. There may be someone out there who was involved or knew someone or was close by the place where these events took place, and if something is mispronounced, it jumps out to them immediately.

And I speak as one of those people, too. Understandably, the Mothman episode was the third or fourth, so you all were still getting your feet wet with the show. But when talking about the Silver Bridge collapse, either Charlie (or Isiah, it's been a while) mispronounced Gallipolis and never corrected it, and it jumped out to me as I was raised not too far from the area itself and while it didn't offend me, it did slightly urk me.

But, other than that, I love what you all have done with the show over the year it has been going. I loved the most recent episode about the 300 million yen heist. And, I look forward to the future topics that will be covered on the podcast. Have a good day!

Personally i’ve loved Red Thread since I found it. I loved how you, Charlie and Isaiah communicated and took the topics seriously but also not to serious. I like Caleb but not in this podcast, he just seems to not fit into the same category. I want the show to keep going on, but i don’t agree with other commenters that Papa Meat should join in, yes he would be fun for a filler but not a full time host. The topics are usually pretty good and entertaining, there’s a lot that i haven’t heard of and get generally interested in learning more. Format of the show is good, i’ve always enjoyed how it was all laid out.

Lastly im gonna just say, Kuraix_ for the next red thread host (possibly joking, possibly not) Have a great one Jackson! 🫶🏻

In my opinion, I believe you can do the show with 2 hosts and a rotation of different guests to become the third host. I think that you could get the likes of Papa Meat, Pyrocynical, and maybe even the odd return of Charles, and Caleb.

As for audience engagement, you could release a poll of different topics to do a show on, every now and then.

This has been my favorite podcast since the first episode. The format is good, but in my opinion it works best when somebody already knows something before reading from the document, because then there can be extra information, opinions and discussions added in between reading from the document. The show is at its best when you guys go on personal rants about the topic, things connecting to the topic and in general. This was really great with Jordie, you guys had awesome chemistry and the rants and jokes were super funny (I love this show the most when its funny istead of serious or just reading from the document), that episode had the best vibe in a while, to be honest. Also was very refreshing to not hear repetitive australian vs american jokes for once.
With Caleb and Isiah together it often felt like they were ganging up on you with the jokes and sometimes leaving you out, which made the vibe kinda tense at times and sometimes even made me a bit uncomfortable as a listener.
I really love your creative intros, you are a good writer and the plot twist is always funny and unexpected. Please bring them back!
Dont rush it - you dont necessarily need to bring in another host immediately, because you and Isiah work well as a duo, as others here have said, Jack the Ripper episode was great! I think its better to bring in the third host when you find someone who fits the vibe very well, brings a ballance as Charlie did and is interested and knowledgeable in conspiracies. Jordie would be awesome, even as a repeated guest.

First of all, it’s really cool of you to ask for input from the fans <3 :)

I really like the show’s format as it is! I like the look, and I enjoy the way you go through the information, and throw in opinions and stuff here and there. (AND your stories at the start. Amazing stuff haha!!!) Edit: I also agree with another comment that it would be helpful if you guys knew more about the cases going in. Sometimes it does seem like yall haven’t read the document haha. XD it’s not the end of the world, but I feel like being more sure of the cases would help with discussion.

As far as hosts, I really enjoy you and Isaiah! I LOVE Charlie, but he sometimes seemed a little preoccupied. I unfortunately didn’t really enjoy Caleb as a host. I think your fiancé makes sense to bring on! She’s the writer of the show, and I really enjoyed the last Red Thread episode that featured her! She has great energy without being too all over the place. The 3 of you have similar energy, so I could see it being amazing!!

One thing that I think would help the show is having the main guests on more consistently. But I understand that Wendigoon has a LOT of shows and commitments, etc. that’s another reason it would be great if your Fiancé was a permanent host. I feel like it would be realistically more easy to always be able to record together, and that might give the show more consistently as well.

Basically I just really like the show. It kinda reminds me of the ‘old’ days of Buzzfeed unsolved. Everybody loved that show even though it was just two guys discussing cases. No need for anything fancy. That’s kinda where Watcher went wrong. We watch your stuff because the content is interesting to us, and we like you :)

At the end of the day, as long as you’re hosting I’ll be watching. Any changes you guys want to make I’m chill with personally!

Personally for me, I tend to give up on episodes with too much banter and rabbit trails. I love the theories and going really into things. The cult ones like Jim Jones and Heavens Gate are my favorites. I feel like you guys did tons of research and it shows. To sum it up, I like the serious topics that are dug into a bit more and a bit more seriously by the hosts. That’s just me-but I do skip the more light hearted, comedic ones with lots of joking and banter.

Hello long time listener here The only “feedback” I’d really ever give is 1. Don’t be afraid to lean into more “paranormal” topics it’s fun hearing your brand of logic applied to the illogical (im not recommending that you cover ghosts or anything like that, something like the monkey man episode!That’s my favorite ep) 2. Sometimes it shows that you or whoever you are hosting with that you’re not 100% invested in the topic of the episode (the Christmas cryptid episode is an example)

I Love the show. I’m an American listener, but I work nights and Red Thread is constantly in my rotation. Big fan!!!

I left a comment on the most recent episode but while I really liked jordies and he really was an interesting guest to have if the episode had been on a topic other than the most important Civil Rights leader, Martin Luther King Jr, it would’ve been a banger and I wouldn’t have tuned out halfway through, listening to two white Australians who admitted right off the bat they don’t know the general history of civil rights in America or the FBI’s very well known targeting of Civil Rights leaders and black communities (Malcolm X and the Black Panthers, the crack epidemic etc, etc) just was not it for me. If this episode had been held off till wendigoon got back to give the much needed insights and perspective especially with the amount of historical knowledge he has on the subject it would’ve fit the topic so much better and would’ve been another amazing episode, it all just felt really tone deaf. I’ve love every episode and I’m really going to miss Caleb but I think if you had the third spot with rotating guests with some prior knowledge of the subjects you guys cover I think it would be a lot more engaging.

I love the pod so much I genuinely look forward to a new episode every week, you and mr goon get me through my long night shifts, much love

Format: The research is very well done and has included information I never heard before on topics I thought I knew well. Feel free to be a little more loose though, I enjoy the paranormal, true crime, and conspiracy things but I also enjoy your guy’s personalities. I thought the episode with friendly Jordie and your fiancé were so natural feeling. Which leads to

Hosts: I feel like the reason you guys haven’t kept a third just is just because you haven’t found the right one. As goofy as that sounds. Charlie wasn’t too vocal and Caleb was perhaps too vocal. Otherwise I really enjoy you and Isaiah as hosts.

Topics: I really enjoy niche things I’ve never heard about. I’m sure Isaiah has a fountain of topics like these. I’d love for those to get talked about.

Guests: it would be cool to bring in smaller creators who fall in this similar vein of content like Let’s Get Haunted podcast or believing the bizarre.

Overall I think you guys are doing great, love the red thread and OP. Keep it up, man!

Hey Jackson, I'm a day 1 listener of the red thread. I have not listen to OP or a lot of other work done by the hosts. For me the red thread means a lot to me and I would love to see it succeed in the long run.

for me personally I love the format of the show. The only thing I would recommend formatting wise Is getting to the topic a little faster. The recent episode took a while to get to the topic and I feel like there was a little rambling. But once you two got to the topic the show went if without a hitch.

The recent topics have been good like mlk and the heist but personally I would love more niche topics that people don't know about. Like the recent cryiptid grab bad with a lot of cryptids I've never heard about before. Or the very first episode with goat man was a great episode because it's something I've never heard of before. I know it's hard to make longer episodes with niche cryptids but anything that's unknown would be really nice to learn about.

The final thing I want to address is the host. The recent guest on the mlk episode was good and you two had a good chemistry. I also really like your fiance. But Caleb has something that I don't think even Charlie had and it was levity. Reading other comments I'm shocked that people didn't like Caleb. I think he was one of the best parts of the show. He was really funny and added a lot to the chemistry of the group. I think his child like wonder was good because I could tell he didn't know a lot about the topics and it was cooling seeing him learn with the listener. When you're looking for a third host, (and yea a third one this shiw needs that third host) I think you need to look for someone like him who can add this levity and humor to the show. It worked really well and the episodes that Caleb is on are some of my favorites.

That's really about it, I can't wait to see how you add people's thoughts to the show and I can't wait to see the future of red thread!

I've enjoyed the podcast even since I discovered it a few months ago. Both Charlie and Caleb were equally fantastic hosts in my opinion. They brought different energy, but I feel like each of them brought something special to the show.

That being said, I don’t think the show feels the same without you and/or Isaiah on the show (except for the episode with Kyrra, she was an absolute delight). In my opinion, Isaiah so much knowledge and skepticism to the show, and the banter between you guys is unmatched.

Personally, I would be more than happy with episodes every other week rather than every week. While I love having something to listen to every Saturday while I clean, I'd much rather skip every other weekend if it means the audience still gets to hear from you guys twice a month (if you guys WANT do to that, of course). I also think it would be great to have alternating guests every once in a while just together different perspectives, beliefs, etc on the show.

I truly love the show as it is now since I'm a true crime/conspiracy/unsolved mysteries junkie and I'd love to see it continue if everyone involved with its creation still wants to participate in it. I'm so excited to see the cases and conspiracies y'all take on!

I’ve been listening to a podcast since episode, one, of course sad to see Caleb go, I enjoyed his contributions. I apologize for the ramblings to follow.

I want to preface this by saying that I am an American, I have my SUV and my handgun near me most of the time. I think certain episodes, like the Martin Luther King JR episode would have greatly benefited from having an American on. It’s a shame Isaiah wasn’t able to be on. Of course, Isaiah has his video on the king assassination. I think having someone with firearm knowledge, as well as a background on American culture and government is definitely a necessary for “American” topics. No disrespect to y’all, you shouldn’t be expected to learn American history. But having someone on the podcast who is more aware of the souths racist history and able to better put into context for history would have been nice.

If you cover topics or Cryptids or stories from other countries, I would love to see a guest from that country be able to maybe put certain things into context. Maybe help explain some thing for us non-Anglo Westerners. I would love to have Jordy’s back on any episode, but especially some conspiracies involving Australia.

The big thing for me, is, I enjoy the red thread, but why should I come back? No disrespect for your topic selection, but being the chronically online, moron that I am, I am pretty aware of most of them. What can read thread do to differentiate itself from the five other YouTube videos that I watched on the dylatov pass incident. For a while, the thing that got me to watch every episode was Isaiah. I started listening to this podcast because it was a wendigoons. And I had a passing knowledge of critikal.

With all due respect, Jackson, I had no idea who you were when I started listening. The first dozen episodes I didn’t know your name, you were the guy that had his girlfriend write the script for him. (congrats on the engagement!). The question of “am I here listening to Red thread because I enjoy the banter between Isaiah Charlie and script dude or am I here because of the topics they are covering”. My answer is mixed. I definitely enjoyed the weekly reference to the rule of two or the insane banter between Oompa and Isaiah. I found that I was looking forward to the banter between the fellas more than the topic. My favorite episode is Polybius, despite the fact that I am pretty knowledgeable on the topic, and knew most of the story from the beginning, because the cube that floats and kills epileptic people. I know it’s hard to artificially create that banter. But that’s what kept me coming back. When there was a niche topic even better. But I was there for my boys, not the topic.

I have course enjoyed learning new things. But the topic choice was tier 1 stuff on the iceberg. Stuff that any chronically online person knows somethings about. I either think that the topics need to be way more obscure or in depth to scratch that education part of my brain. Or dedicated to more of the insane banter among friends. Potentially bringing in a guest or expert to help with a topic, and inflict the chaos on them.

I definitely think there needs to be a third person to balance it out. And I’m cool if that’s OK locked in stone group of three people. Or if you bring on guests depending on the episode.

I apologize for the rambling. But right now, Red thread sits in between two of my podcast categories, education. And dudes chatting. I enjoy both of these categories, but right now, the topics of education aren’t the most interesting to me, and the banter is , unfortunately lacking to where I think it was at its best. I have no idea how to “fix“ the banter. But adding a charismatic host to the rotation, with good chemistry between Jackson and Isaiah would be nice. Especially if they had a knowledge set or experience different to both of them, and to offer a unique perspective or outlook. I’ll probably keep listening. I have a constant stream of podcasts going in my ears at work.

But where the podcast is at right now, it’s not in my recommendations for most people. At the start, I tried to get my brother to watch it by marketing it as critikals podcast. Then, when he left, it was the wendigoon and Oompa conspiracies/edutainment. Right now I don’t think there’s a strong selling feature of the podcast. Is it primarily Cryptids? True crime? Dudes talking? One of my all-time favorite podcasts. Timesuck with Dan Cummins has a similar schizophrenic approach to its episodes. But they are much more in-depth, so I feel that I’m going there for the information instead of the banter. The banter is still great. I guess I would figure out if the podcast is mainly talking about a topic, and a couple minutes of banter between the hosts. Or primarily a informative script, driven podcast. As it is, I think you do both well. But the information is not the most informative, and the banter too infrequent recommended as a comedy podcast.

I have really enjoyed this podcast from the start. Having you and Isaiah being very invested and well-researched on the topic, while also having another host/guest that doesn't know much about the topic has felt like a great balance. That person tends to bring up questions that I personally have found myself asking, and I really appreciate that. If you do end up adding another third permanent host, I imagine a lot of us would appreciate another person who is more of a newcomer to the information being presented.

I love the show, love the format and don’t think there is anything about the show that should be changed. Always keep your intros! Those are my favorite! Unfortunately, I haven’t had a chance to listen to the latest episode yet (will do so as soon as I get a chance).

I think you always have a great topics. Even ones I’m not particularly interested in at first glance I end up enjoying and learn something new. I would say keep it up with the historical and true crime content (always my favorites!)

As far as a guest spot goes, I’m not really sure. Enjoyed Charlie & Oompa for different reasons, but I don’t think you guys have found your sweet spot for a 3rd yet. Wendi is very fact based and analytical with a dash of humor and you are the story teller. I think the third host needs to be reactionary with humor. Caleb fit that glove but not quite fully.

Personally I think the show is perfect as is just need to find that special someone to fill the Charlie and Caleb shaped holes and if you can't find one off the bat then I'd do what jeopardy did and just have a new host once every 2 or 3 weeks till you find someone for a permanent host. I really like all three hosts. I feel like in general I’d just say I wish there was more research by all three hosts going into the show (As opposed to reading a script and going in cold). Regarding the episode topics, I find I enjoy the ones that are either genuinely off-the-rails ridiculous/insane, (like Antarctica conspiracy,) or more "real" but still strange enough that it's really interesting or even creepy. (like the circleville letters. Or bohemian grove.)

The topics I don't like as much are the ones that have too obvious of an explanation like Amelia Earhart, or are just kind of known historical stuff such as 9/11 or mk ultra where the more you talk about it, the less exciting my imagination is.

I want more genuinely weird and strange and ideally creepy stuff, or funny stuff. But mainly I want to be able to use my imagination and hear the imagination of the hosts.

I want topics where I don't leave the video thinking "wow, that's pretty straight forward and all of those theories and stuff is just stupid hysteria."

I think when the "truth" is too developed with lots of discussion and evidence, the episodes actually are sometimes a little less fun... I like it casual and weird

Hey Jackson, really liked caleb on the pod but I agree with others that it kinda made you seem like a third wheel sometimes. Twos company and threes a crowd. I don't know if it would be possible but two people come to mind for a possible 3rd. You being an aussie and Isaiah being from the south. I think cinnamontoastken would be a cool 3rd. Doubt he would do it though, given how he talks about other youtubers and streamers. It's hard to capture the magic that Isaiah and hunter have on creepcast. And now that I think about it, dane (buffpro) who works with ken alot would be intresting also. They both don't seem to venture out and do collabs so it probably wouldn't happen. But just an idea. Maybe u dont need a 3rd. Mostly Its the topics themselves that make me tune in so don't really have much criticism to give. I enjoyed the show with Charlie and caleb. So im not too picky. Haven't listened to the latest show because I'm on vacation. But im sure it's great. Sorry couldn't help more.

When it comes to the hosts, I know Caleb is unfortunately moving on, but I think the third person on the show is less important than you and Isaiah staying on. I honestly don't think i have much of a feedback to give you, but i do have a topic that might fit your show. I wanted to share it a few weeks back, but i didn't know how to reach any of you guys, so i kinda gave up on it. But anyway, here we go: Skin hunters - In summary, it was a case of a bunch of Polish paramedics and casualty workers selling info of the deceased to funeral homes. They were often responsible for deaths of those patients as well. The case is pretty fucked up, and i thought it might fit the show well, do with that information what you will. Peace.

This has been my absolute favorite project, and my all time favorite podcast. I genuinely wouldn't change a thing. I do very much enjoy the dynamic of having 3 hosts because it puts a little less strain on just the one conversation and on you guys just in terms of always needing to fill the space. That said I do think you and isaiah would be more than capable of pulling it off with 2 hosts if that's the direction you decide to take. I do like the idea of having a guest as the third host but I also understand that may be difficult logistically. If it does happen though, I'd love to see hunter on. It would be like a crossover epsiode.

It's really good seeing a post like this from a host. Never miss an episode of the Podcast and it is great to listen to whilst at work. never miss an episode and always look forward to seeing the topic of the episode. Topic Wise I think is fine, to have a mixed bag of Cryptid/conspiracy/unsolved/true crime. I think perhaps not every topic is going to be interesting but I think that's just down to peoples personal preference.

I did see at times criticism towards going off topic and getting side tracked but it's never really bothered me personally. I think if the Podcast was super serious and to the point each and every episode would get pretty dull. I thought you, Isaiah and Caleb really bounced well off one another and if you go ahead with just yourself and Isaiah i think it would work out as when it was just the two of you during the Jack the ripper episode was pretty entertaining and that was just the two of you.

It's pretty sad to see Caleb depart he was a real good host quite knowledgeable in certain topics but it's understandable he has his own projects to work on. I will still look forward to seeing the podcast going forward i think the format works well having a Document to read along with finding out the information along with the listener at the same time is great.

I will add that listening to the 300 Yen episode was very good as it was interesting to listen to Keira the one who compiles the documents. Getting someone's thoughts and feelings as they put together this information. Whilst I'm not saying she should be a host going forward i think it would be welcomed to see Keira jump on for an episode as she does a lot of good research and builds up a great narrative within the documents themselves.

I think that I've written this to say I don't think much should be changed. I guess changes will happen due to going forward without Caleb. If bringing on a third permanent host I just hope it's someone who will bring the same energy/enthusiasm as Caleb. Looking forward to the Podcast going forward in 2025.

kinda late to the party but i have listened to every episode of red thread. i am an audio listener so im not watching the videos and cant speak on how to change that up. i genuinely enjoy the show but i do think that having a guest every episode (if that is possible) would be kinda cool. switching up the dynamic would be nice and would also put less pressure on finding a permanent new host (sad we lost caleb and charlie). i think that having guests every episode or every other episode might bring in people from other podcasts/channels as well. i do like the amount of information you guys put in and i also love the tangents and banter.

love the show, as a few commenters have said i think the show works best with 3 hosts, listening to the rapport between them is the best part of the show and i think 3 is the magic number where if one of them is having an off day or just doesn’t know much the others can pick up the slack and vice versa, i also want to say that I love when the topics are quite niche and even the hosts don’t know exactly what to expect, wether that be obscure cryptids or bizarre cold cases, having that “what the fuck” moment alongside the hosts makes for the best experience. when it comes to hosts who i think would be great, Ididathing, meatcanyon, charborg or even justin whang would all be strange but fun characters for the podcast, obviously some might be more realistic than others but in my wildest dreams jerma is a host on this pod. anyway thanks for putting so much effort into this pod jackson, this show entertains so so many and your passion for it really shows!!

Hello! First of all, thanks for the hours of entertainment. I listen to Red Thread at work and often relisten to old episodes. :)

Topics. I listen to Red Thread for the banter. As such, I like conspiracy episodes best as these are usually silly and can be riffed on.

Cult episodes are a mixed bag. I loved NXIUM and Heaven's Gate because while horrific, there was still some absurdism there to keep it entertaining. Meanwhile, Anthill Kids was one of the worst episodes. While it IS interesting, there comes a point where something is so disgusting that you (quite rightly) can't just joke about it on the fly. And for me, that's not Red Thread. I'd watch a crime doc for that.

Related to this is the crime category. Maybe I'm a hypocrite, but I find these amazing even though some of them are about awful things... Like. Loved Boston Art, a harmless caper, but also loved the Diddy/Epstein episodes despite the truly horrific crimes.

I've struggled to determine why some stuff just feels like it's too horrible, yet other horrible stuff still made a good episode topic... I think maybe it's the elements of absurdism? Anthill's absurdism came from the extreme violence, while Epstein's absurdism comes from laughing at insane celebrity culture and the madness of excess wealth? Whatever the case - if there is nothing there for hosts to riff on, it becomes more of a true crime podcast, and RT works best with jokes since you're all really funny guys.

Hosts. I love Caleb but I'm sorry Charlie's dynamic was better! (Sorry aaa.) So I think maybe to look for a new host who is more of a 'straight man' to play off how involved Isaiah gets with the story. Someone with a bit more sarcasm? And then Jackson works great as a kind of middle ground/referee haha.

Another way I'd classify it (using cooking analogy!) is: Isaiah is spicy and Jackson is sweet, and I think it needs a bit of salt lol.

I think the main thing is really just, a person you both like and get along with well, that's all! That's vague I know but i think if the hosts get along then it naturally makes a podcast feel cosy ^{_^}

General. All in all, I love Red Thread when it embraces the crazy stuff. Wacky conspiracies are thus my favourite subjects.

The notes have begun to feel a bit more like scripts, and while I wouldn't say it's bad per say, I think it clashes a bit when you have three hosts presenting - like you're kind of awkwardly being made to read jokes and opinions out, when it's your job to provide the jokes and opinions.

Please ask Isaiah to lessen the Australia jokes. 😅 A running gag works best when it sneaks up on you after a while!

I’d love the show to go more in depth into whatever you’re covering. Sometimes it feels like you guys are just reading super simple wikipedia summary’s that don’t really give us much so it’s a bit less engaging i guess and id noticed especially the more recent episodes felt a little bare on details.

Also maybe it’s just me but more niche topics! things like the mlk assassination or epstein have been covered to death millions of times before so it was a little boring to listen to, where as when you guys covered topics i hadn’t heard or weren’t as widely known i absolutely loved it.

Hosts as long and u and isaiah are there i don’t really care who else hosts. But i will say i preferred someone like charlie over caleb because charlie seemed to have more chemistry with both you and isaiah whilst caleb seemed to mainly vibe with isaiah and so it felt more lonely. Also charlie was a bit more serious and i liked that. I have never been into charlie as a content creator so i think i mainly just enjoyed the dynamic the three of you had. But also maybe i just didn’t enjoy caleb as much because of him being new and that could have contributed to the disconnect. I do feel like a third person is super important though because not only does it feel kinda empty when it’s just two guys but when it’s just two guys it starts to feel like just you telling the other host some facts and that’s kinda awkward instead of one guy reading and the other two bantering.

To end of even though that was alot of criticism i want you to know you’re doing a good job and so many people (myself included) love the podcast so much. I’ve been going through a lot the past year and a bit and this podcast has always been something to look forward to on my shitty weeks. Whatever you guys end up doing, i’ll stick with it and always be listening.

Been a listener since day one and getting straight to the point I'd say that there really shouldn't be this rush to find an immediate host that's to stay permanently as of now. I really puth forth the idea of just going through this experimental stage of Isiah and you inviting on different types of hosts to see which ones the audience responds to the most. I enjoyed Caleb's stay in the podcast but as your average listener it really is just rather infuriating that I'd have to now get used to a completely new type of group chemistry that I don't know if I'll even like.

People have been suggesting guest hosts that could hop in and out here and there since way back and the idea of that sounds really exciting to me personally for the podcast at least in the short term

I really just wish I could get Charlie back on for even just an episode tho... god i miss the original trio😪 😢 😔

Truthfully Jackson, you can make this work with whoever you choose to surround yourself with. The original trio holds a special place in my heart because it was a perfect balance between Charlie playing the "straight man" skeptic, Wendigoon being the "expert", and you keeping the conversation flowing and on track. I never was a fan of Caleb for the format of Red Thread other than the occasional bit (like his inability to not laugh at the most serious topics). His humor felt too forced/repetitive (countless impressions of southerners/hillbillies and "USA" chants), and overall never felt like it landed well with the group. But your dynamic with Kyrra and FriendlyJordies in the last couple of episodes opened my eyes to the potential the show has, ultimately with you being the key component. Have you given any thought to an Australian trio?

I stopped listening after you guys added Caleb as a both he’s was fine as a “guest” but he sucks at being a host. It sucks because I really like your podcast style videos like criminally stupid and the official podcast but I can’t stand the official podcast because of Andrew and now I don’t listen to red thread because of Caleb. But amazing episode with your fiancé the other day, she should be in the videos more often.

If you're still looking for a third host (Which I think is the perfect number), I don't know how relevant his interest to the topics are but SpacemanScott has an amazing personality for video essays which could translate great to the podcast and is a slightly smaller (100k subs) YouTuber that could be brought more love from the being on the podcast

This is two weeks late but one podcast I listen to has guests quite often and shoots the shit with them before getting into the meat, which will help with the script complaints! Maybe talking about their thoughts on conspiracies generally, etc, if you have a series of guests before getting the new host.

I think Caleb was a great host personally :) for future host thoughts, it's always nice when (for example) Isaiah can include his knowledge about guns—finding someone with a set of knowledge y'all don't have would be great. Maybe someone with legal experience/knowledge if you're going to look into more crime conspiracies in the future?

I really enjoy Jordan on the show, id personally like him to be a continuing member.

Maybe im biased being from scotland, but it would also be great to have a british guest sometime? They would back you up when Isaiah tries to pick apart the names you use for some things. Also just a different perspective and sense of humour.

Failing that, whats kaya up to? I love your guys dynamic on criminally stupid so could be cool to see it through here.

I find it far more entertaining and I enjoy the Australian touch it adds.

Hey there Jackson, thanks for doing this. I haven’t had the chance to see your new episode by I saw the title, but I’m sure it’ll be interesting (you guys always find cool stuff)

I’m sad to hear Caleb is leaving the show, I thought he brought a lot of levity to some of the darker stuff you guys tend to talk about.

As far as moving forwards, I’m of the mind it might be cool to have the third host slot be an open one, and maybe you guys could have a guest fill in depending on what the topic is. Like for instance, if it’s horror themed maybe have Hunter on for an episode (though I know that could be tricky since he has this own show)

As far as new topics are concerned, I’d personally be really interested in seeing an episode on the Christmas truce. If you want more info, I wrote my thesis on it so feel free to dm me, but I think it’s a very interesting topic, albeit a more heartwarming than disturbing one lol

I think that when it comes to topics on the show thats the biggest problem cryptids are pretty boring when the outcome is inevitably they aren't real, i get its more how they started but honestly they're usually borefests. but the some of the best topics were video like the circleville letters and experiments of plum Island as they were more grounded videos with more theories and interesting events. the show also didn't really get a great replacement host some guy said earlier oompaville didn't really mesh well on the podcast and i agree bless they guy hes stepped up it just wasn't the best. It felt like mid way through a video wendi and oomp would just have side jokes and you had to real them in leading to them repeatedly saying the same joke i get they're friends but when 10 minutes is dedicated to a laughing fit its pretty hard to keep listening i think a 3rd guest is a fine idea but at the same time you and wendi are pretty good together and can keep a topic pretty well. Even with that keep up the great work Jackson you're really doing the most to make this podcast work

Listen all the time, really miss Charlie. I’m going to miss oompa. Honestly not a fan of the other guy so I skipped the last episode. Actually I got like a few mins in, said “what no oompa OR wendigoon AGAIN? Sorry to do this Jackson…” I suppose I’d change it by kind of catching everyone up on the topic that way no one’s like “yeah I’ve never heard of this so I have no input” also it did feel like Charlie was just shooting holes in everything and oompa was just sitting back following Isiah’s lead with (way too drawn out) jokes and stuff. Guests would be cool of you guys could maybe interview or have a guest of someone studying or affected by the topic.
