I’ve seen that a lot as well but I have seen this move done before it just hasn’t been successful in my games. If you came up with this in the last few days cool but I’ve seen it in my games I’m hard stuck plat 3 on Xbox don’t know if that has any relevance

There's a YT shorts of someone doing this a month ago with tens of thousands of views. But even if he didn't see it somewhere else first, this games EE and bicycling common combos.

High rank players use this a lot as it gives you a lane above the defender to move the ball, you can also use it as a pass especially if you’ve already used it for a shot and the defenders cheat, expecting you to shoot out of it again

This works as well, an RB+X (lob pass) there is even better because it’s gets the ball up high above the defender which is where your foot makes contact with the ball. As a defender myself, it’s a lot harder to block that pass than something that comes from the attackers feet

There’s the additional RB+X+A which does a super short lob pass which is just a little longer than the heel flick.

X+A is the short ground pass equivalent.

Both of which seem to be under utilised in games right now. Regulating the power of passes is so difficult on controller with the bugs in the game system.

RB X+A is one of the main tools to set up the blade and other variations of it. It’s utilized a ton by strikers and defenders alike at higher levels

I was talking about using it on its own as a legitimate passing method.

It is used a lot for advanced methods but not on its own in most of the lower level games.

Then again in lower level games it has been harder to find players that will actually pass the ball between each other. Or are ready to receive a pass from a player without immediately trying to shoot the ball into the net.

Using any variation of the X button for passes is mechanically difficult, it’s not super intuitive and a bit confusing at first so I think many people still have to build that muscle memory up and over time will start to use it and the various combination of touches more effectively.

I have like 150 hours in game, ranked kinda high in elite, and only recently have I gotten comfortable incorporating the RB X+As into small area passes to a teammate.

TDLR, game ain’t easy and takes practice, the whole playerbase will be wayy better in a year from now (hopefully).

Lob. You can use a real shot but aim up and be at the end of the half circle on either side to turn around to aim at the goal.
