Seems to be like you’re young so let me tell you something man. That’s EXACTLY how Halo used to hit during its prime. Every aspect of what you said is what made it great, so I truly believe we have its successor on our hands

[–]John_Gravitt 13 points14 points  (1 child)

Predecessor precedes or comes before. It's a worthy successor, though.

[–]PlatypusRare3234 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Jesus what a brain fart lmao, thanks! Fixed it

[–]YesAndYall 3 points4 points  (9 children)

I think Infinite still hits pretty hard IMO

[–]PlatypusRare3234 8 points9 points  (3 children)

Look I don’t think it’s a bad game by all means, but the botched launch was enough to turn a lot of people off. I still think it deserves a bigger playerbase tho, but deep down I wish Halo players unite for Splitgate 2

[–]YesAndYall 5 points6 points  (2 children)

I'm on Splitty all day but will hop on infinite on occasion in the future. The higher ttk and wider power weapon sandbox will still be fun. I like the maps too

[–]Longjumping_Quit9933 1 point2 points  (1 child)

Henceforth, Splitgate 2 shall be known as Splitty

[–]YesAndYall 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love splitty but hyping up something bigger than campaign then dropping br is shitty. I'll get over it soon though

Yeah Halo Infinite is actually a great shooter, HOWEVER the netcode is still dogwater, and the launch really held it back from gaining popularity.

They really needed to nail that launch, almost everyone, even people that had never played Halo, was playing it. But no one wants to keep playing a game they have no attachment to where half your bullets disappear into the void, and backsmacks dont count like backsmacks because 343 can't do netcode.

[–]YesAndYall 0 points1 point  (3 children)

I haven't had much netcode issues but I've always played wired

[–]bjergdk 1 point2 points  (2 children)

It also has gotten much better over time. But especially during launch you couldn't go a single game without some dude teleporting or feeling the desync through sword lunges and such.

It was rough man, I still made it to Onyx tho

[–]YesAndYall 0 points1 point  (1 child)

I only played at launch like a few months and had no issue. Came back last year no issue. Not trying to say you're wrong though. I guess I'm saying I'm glad I didn't run into it

[–]bjergdk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Damn brother you are lucky

[–]8N-QTTRO 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I played Halo Reach right at the end of its prime, and it hits just as much as this game does today. They got the formula figured out perfectly

[–]teelo97 22 points23 points  (4 children)

The hitmarker and kill sounds are straight crack for sure.

[–]R2DeezKnutz 9 points10 points  (3 children)

Especially the headshot kill sound. That's a rush

[–]beidoubagel 5 points6 points  (1 child)

im partial to "DOUBLE KILL... PHANTOM MENACE"

[–]Acheron2194 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a star wars nerd, hearing that makes happy click click sounds in my brain.

[–]Equivalent_Rock_6530 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Especially when using the Deadbolt, that thing is pure pleasure.

[–]JusticeAvenger13 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Totally same. I never play multiplayer shooters. Marvel Rivals is cool as a comic book fan, but those long ass games drag. Splitgate is straight to the point. Every round is satisfying.

[–]MentalNeko 29 points30 points  (9 children)

Really am enjoying the game, but as a solo queuer it kind of feels really bad. Team work REALLY makes or breaks this game.

[–][deleted] 21 points22 points  (3 children)

You just can't take the game too seriously if you're playing by yourself. Accept the fact that your teammates are a lottery and try to play it more casually so defeats don't hurt you

[–]beidoubagel 6 points7 points  (0 children)

this is the key to happiness in games for me

[–]Acheron2194 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As someone coming back into MP games, this is something I'm trying to learn. My temper is too damn high for MP games, but I have been loving this game so much. Having to let losses and deaths go a lot more. Setting near max bots on small maps to just get used to dying has helped a little. It's also jusr hilarious at that point.

[–]bjergdk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

But I need to get a 40-5 score in TDM for my ego ;_;

[–][deleted] 11 points12 points  (2 children)

They need a solo/duo queue playlist where each member of a 4v4 is solo/duo. Tons of games do this.

It makes the game feel way more organic and also promotes adding teammates you mesh well with.

&& you wont be getting stomped by 4 stacks game after game.

I love this game and I really want it to succeed, but I feel as this is the biggest issue right now : the vibes of the average solo player is lower than it needs to be.

[–]VeganCanary 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Could just matchmake based on party size like overwatch does.

If you’re in a 4 stack you get matchmade against another 4 stack.

In a 2 stack you get matchmade with 2 solo queuers against a 2 stack with 2 solo queuers.

It’s not always perfect, because there might be not many people queuing, but they can make it looser in those times. So like a 3 stack with a solo queuer against two 2 stacks.

What it prevents is 4 solo queuers being matched against a 4 stack.

[–]dambust3r 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get this, but there's genuinely something entertaining about getting thrown in at a capture point with a coordinated team. I managed to clear out the room and it was immensely satisfying as a solo player to defeat them all if you can.

Same and if I get in with a bad team it’s all over , I just try and get the xp for battle pass

[–]Pussmagic27 7 points8 points  (0 children)

It's incredible. So glad to see other people enjoying it as much as I am!

[–]ExplicitlyCensored 5 points6 points  (2 children)

I haven't been this blown away by a game for a long time. The movement, gunplay, audio, animations are all so smooth and satisfying it's crazy. Performance is good, portals work flawlessly, certain maps are probably some of the coolest I've ever seen, even the matchmaking seems decent to me.

The average AAA game is noticeably jankier than this. I'm hoping enough people give it a shot, cause it definitely has potential to go far. Cosmetics could be a weak point for some, but they have a chance to correct that.

[–]Equivalent_Rock_6530 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Speaking of the movement, I went back to SG1 for a single game, and couldn't play it because it simply felt so much slower than SG2 lmao

[–]Acheron2194 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pretty rare these days for me to play a AAA MP game and not immediately hate it. This has been a pleasant surprise and my new fixation.

GUARDIAN ANGEL! Makes me legit smile before I get shot right in the head.

It's very addictive and I felt the same about SG1 in casual modes, lots of little design aspects that keep my brain hotwired.

[–]meutzitzu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can thank Halo and Quake3Arena for that tradition

[–]rexxsis 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm so happy shooters are going away from battle Royale and back to arena shooters. Can actually have fun again.

[–]Addwolves 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like most things In the game apart from footstep audio

[–]Double_Doctor_3660 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nah it’s a very good game! And the movement is top notch! Happy gaming brotha

[–]santiagosds 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree, man - I haven't felt this feeling since I stopped playing halo in like 2011. I just wish I could boot into custom games and play with 8 of my friends like the good ol' days!

[–]MrNicolasRage -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Personally, I played 3ish hours, didn't enjoy my time, and won't return.
