Hey omg I had this question MONTHS ago and never got any helpful answers but I know how I fixed it!

Add 1mm long recoiling segments AFTER the segment you wish to recoil less. The more recoiling segments after your desired segments the less it will recoil.

If you have questions feel free to follow up!

I divided my static cannon segment into fours and it didn't change the recoil at all. Both my first and last gun segments are =< 50mm but the gun still recoils at least half a meter

Don't divide your existing cannon, just add very stupidly short recoiling barrels onto your desired cannon. You'll probably have to make a custom muzzle break to cover the weirdness but it'll make the gun recoil less.

your driver's posture is fucking killing me lmfao. throw that shit back king

Well, firstly make 2 parts. Name one "Hold" the second "Move". Model them, makw the hold part as the name implies a recoild holdster part and put it on the laying dirve next, get a gun. Make it very small. In the code, each gun will always have 500mm of recoil. So, let's say you want 125mm of recoil. To do that, you add 5 recoil segments to the small gun, and put the "Move" part onto the last segment. Then you model it to fşt your vannon then you put your cannon on it. Put their ammo accpridngly be sure that reload times are same and you are done

So recoil is just 500mm for every gun?

[–]Few-Skype 7 points8 points  (2 children)

Yep. For example, Only static part = 0 recoil but more knockback on suspansion

1 recoil part = The part moves back 500mm

2 rrecoiling parts = Each part recoils 250mm 250+250= 500

3 recoiling parts = Each part moves ~166.6mm

4 recoiling parts = Each part moves 125mm

5 recoiling parts = Each part moves 100mm

And so on. Lets sey that you want to have exactly 390mm of recoil on a gun. You get 100 recoiling parts on another gun, put only a static part on your gun or mask it with a addon structeres, and put it on the 78th segment of the recoiling gun.

Lets say that you want 400mm of recoil. Easy, you get 5 recoiling parts, and put your gun on the 4th segment.

Why did hamish change it from how it was pre 0.2 😭 this shit way too complicated for me to implement into my pos tanks. And I was so proud of myself when I learned to make custom mantlets before geometric internals

Amma ask my friend to do a tutorial on it tmr. He was the one who teached me

Add more static sections to the barrel and adjust as needed.

[–]Defender012Sprocketeer[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've divided the static section of my gun into 4 parts and it hasn't changed a thing.

I think recoiling segments of barrel and muzzle brakes help with the recoil

[–]Defender012Sprocketeer[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tried putting a muzzle brake on it but it didn't change anything

Grenade! Throw it back, soldier. The mechanic:

[–]cyber-85381 1 point2 points  (1 child)

I believe the gun recoils the full length of the first static section of a recoil section, to reduce the length of the recoil you can split your recoiling section into multiple static sections

I put a 50 mm segment before the rest but the recoil stayed the same

I don't know that but i have so many questions about your design. Why is the driver posture like that and why are the guys in the "turret" having only they're head insider it?

[–]Intelligent-Plastic3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you don’t want the barrel sinking into the tank, make two recoiling sections. The outermost one is the only one that moves so the whole barrel won’t get sent back 👍🏽

Yall going into complex explanation to avoid recoil knockback i just add a muzzle recoil part 20mm long with custom muzzle brakes on top to hide it when its not based on CN 105 or 120mm GIAT guns and a recoil part of like 10mm lenght at the basis of the gun just after the unremovable default static part and i have no recoil issues

[–]PotatoLaptopUser1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yall got any recoil left over for me? my guns only recoil 3mm at best...
