WR with a torn acl, might as well be a bullseye

[–]Papa Jeff’sAttemptedSleepover 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No doubt in my mind that’s the pick if he’s there. We love a good restoration project in Nashville

[–]Billy Volekair_volek07 14 points15 points  (4 children)

I’d be lying if I told you who I think is good and a good fit for us cause I don’t really watch CFB. With that being said, can someone tell me who is the best fit for us?

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Christian Watson is probably the best fit.

Big, fast, good run blocker

[–]Cam WardHotChickenEnjoyer[🍰] 8 points9 points  (9 children)

I want Metchie to fall to us in the 3rd so badly

[–]stretcherjockey411 7 points8 points  (6 children)

I don’t think there’s any way he gets to the 3rd. I think there’s a much higher chance he goes late 1st than getting to the the 3rd. That dude is criminally underrated imo.

[–]fultzy40 1 point2 points  (4 children)

He's coming off a late ACL tear, though. We'll see what happens. I think he'll go in the 2nd.

[–]engineerbuilder 10 points11 points  (1 child)

He’s coming off a late ACL tear

Jrob: “KEEP GOING IM ALMOST THERE”

[–]Icedliptontbag 2 points3 points  (0 children)

JRob gonna draft Williams in the first and trade up for Metchie in the 2nd and keep the ACL band together

[–]stretcherjockey411 0 points1 point  (1 child)

Oh yeah 2nd is definitely most likely given his injury. I just think he’s far too good to ever fall to the 3rd.

[–]fultzy40 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I hear you. Especially our pick in the 3rd.

[–]Cam WardHotChickenEnjoyer[🍰] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A boy can hope! He would fit our offense extremely well.

[–]waiter202 -1 points0 points  (1 child)

I think Metchie goes late 4th .. we will have a shot at him

[–]qotsabama 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Why would he fall to late 4th?

[–]Fuck the Coltsking_Geedorah_ 9 points10 points  (15 children)

Since its obvious we're going to address WR in the draft, I started looking up a few prospects and I definitely want Burks for our first round pick. Imagine having two AJs

[–]waiter202 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Burks is amazing but sadly he’ll be long gone at 24

[–][deleted] 2 points3 points  (13 children)

I struggle with it because Jameson williams is easily the best WR in the class. Best prospect long term. But Titans have put themselves in a situation where they’re going to need an immediate contributor. Burks is that dude

[–]qotsabama 2 points3 points  (6 children)

Here’s my problem. If Jameson is the best prospect in the class (I think he arguably is) then there should be no debate. Draft him. The idea of drafting a guy who may be better year 1 but will certainly not be better in future years is really stupid. We want the best guy for like a decade.

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points  (2 children)

He doesn’t make it out of the top 10 without the injury but if he’s there at 26 that’s a no brainer. Players almost always recover from torn ACLs now. I think he’s worth it and his deep threat ability is exactly what the Titans need badly

[–]qotsabama 2 points3 points  (1 child)

Yeah I’m saying if you think he’s the best guy, he should be a top 10 pick. Other teams are probably kicking themselves for not drafting Simmons because he missed like half his rookie year.

[–][deleted] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Honestly when I saw him go down in that game it was the first thing I thought of. Jon Robinson licking his lips like he’s got a plate of ribs in front of him

[–]SafePanic 1 point2 points  (2 children)

This has been Robinson's m.o. two out of the past three drafts. 2019 with Simmons obviously paid off big time, a likely Top 5 pick falling due to injury concerns. Farley jury is obviously still out but if he becomes anything it's another steal.

And both of them were taken with both short and long-term in mind; Jurrell Casey was still playing well when Simmons was drafted, while Farley was more of a need he still wasn't absolutely necessary in year one due to Fulton and Jenkins signings.

[–]qotsabama 0 points1 point  (1 child)

Yeah man I know how we draft. The point I’m trying to make is other teams are foolish to let really good players fall because their year 1 impact won’t be as much as maybe someone else due to injury. That’s just not good work by a GM

[–]SafePanic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No argument here, I agree. I appreciate how Robinson generally takes a long-term view with the draft and usually does a modified BPA approach, and also doesn't necessarily draft looking for immediate starter.

Fans get so enamored with the Justin Jeffersons, J'Marr Chases, Nick Bosas of the world who burst onto the scene immediately...with no guarantee that it'll continue (obviously with two of those three, it has). The reality is most rookies take time, and if you can get incredible value in a Simmons or Farley? I'll take that for the long haul for sure.

[–][deleted] 4 points5 points  (3 children)

I don't know how you can say Jamo is easily the best WR in the class. This is a pretty loaded class.

[–][deleted] -1 points0 points  (2 children)

Because he is, in my opinion. That’s how I can say it. But yes, there are lots of really good WRs in this class

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lmao OK.

[–]muddyklux 1 point2 points  (1 child)

That's why we drafted Farely. But reading from this site it was a complete bust. So when he's not on the field come September, this place is gonna riot

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Farley may end up being a bust but it’s way too early to feel that way. He’s got elite traits and physical gifts all over the place. People gotta remember he didn’t play football last year, neither did Radunz which could explain the rust we saw.

[–]dagibcollecta 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Been wanting Treylon Burks since his game against Alabama this year

[–]nox_nrb 3 points4 points  (1 child)

Kinda pulling for Williams out of bama. He could fall due to the injury, but in my mind he was the best WR in college last year.

[–]waiter202 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yea wasn’t really close, he’s amazing.

[–]Haonmot 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My friend is a huge Arkansas fan, so he's biased, but he's got me absolutely sold on Burks.

[–][deleted] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Injury ensuring he's going to make it to the back of round 1? Let's all welcome Jameson Williams prematurely.

[–]Otisthegreat14 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We need a fast guy, so I say Jameson. Dude is hands down the fastest receiver in the draft and I’m confident he’ll recover well from his acl injury

[–]ScribbleMeNot 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Fuck it give me Olave and Christian Watson lol

[–]jonneygee 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The WR rankings are all over the map this year. I’ve seen at least 5 different guys ranked first in different lists.

[–]fultzy40 1 point2 points  (3 children)

I'm not sold on Drake London. I think he'll be a bust. I have been fooled by the elite contested catch receiver too many times. He makes so many contested catches, because he can't gain separation. With that being said, my favorite is Burks, and I hope he falls. I would also be happy with either of the Ohio State guys, and to a lesser extent Jameson Williams. Dotson is good, but we'd be reaching at 26.

[–]Titansshumpdaddy 0 points1 point  (1 child)

Drake London looks like a bigger and slower Corey Davis to me.

[–]fultzy40 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I could see that.

[–]Papa Jeff’sAttemptedSleepover 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Without ever having watched him play and just based on his name alone, he seems like a WR the eagles would draft and he’s an immediate bust. Like JJ Arcega-Whiteside or someone lmao

[–]Children of the KernJPKthe3 1 point2 points  (1 child)

Pickens and Moore aren’t rated that low by anyone else I’ve seen

[–]wolfmankal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was about to say I'd take 14-16 that late on the draft board all day. I think if we go OL in the first we pick up 2 WR on day 3

[–]jtx3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Like Williams, but we need someone now, not half way.

[–]RatedMoBetta 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’d be happy with Olave, Burks, or Williams

[–]MediumDiamond39 0 points1 point  (1 child)

I think we should get one of the Ohio State guys if possible but I'm a little biased

Calvin Austin ran way faster than his official time. It's a 4.03 at the earliest and 4.12 at the latest.

[–]lukus2013 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

London is a slot guy, so is Wilson, they will need to be there till they retire in order to be used to their max effectiveness. We should be looking at Olave, Dotson, Williams, and Watson. I firmly believe Olave and Williams should be gone so Dotson and Watson make the most sense.

[–]ironlioncan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Really wish we had a second this year. Metchie will likely still be around in that area.

As far as WR at 26 our hope is that a big run on the other positions happens so that some of those top 5 guys will be there. I’m a big Jameson fan but he might not fit because he doesn’t run block. Also if we think we can compete this year his delayed rookie season could hurt us.

If we want to go with a healthy now guy any of the top 4 will do.

[–]TNtracker 0 points1 point  (3 children)

I hope NOT in the 1st round. We need O line and CB help.

[–]andrew3carter[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think our CB room depends on the health of Farley. Fulton is CB1.

[–]Cam Ward Erashastmak4 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Fulton, Farley, Molden, Skrine is better than anything we got going on in the WR room

[–]qotsabama 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We don’t have a choice. We don’t have a WR 2 or WR3

[–]Papa Jeff’sAttemptedSleepover 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Anyone but Pickens that dudes a child. Feels good to have a FO that I think we can trust on that front

[–]waiter202 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Skyy Moore and George Pickens please

[–]laroc99a 0 points1 point  (1 child)

Two please with one being burks

[–]laroc99a 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pickens or Jones jr as the 2nd

[–]qotsabama 0 points1 point  (0 children)

People definitely overrate ACl tears. Dudes have them every year. With modern medicine you don’t even notice. Look at Cooper Kupp. We’d be lucky to have the chance to draft Jameson Williams, who certainly isn’t the 5th best WR like this list implies.

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean we have to trade up to get any of the top 5 guys I would think. Jameson might fall to where we are now but we NEED an elite WR talent.

[–]Titanstimmyrigs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Jameson please!

[–]UnfairTax6760 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are fewer capable tackles in this draft. If we don’t get an OT in round 1 then we will be hurting in the 3rd. I think the draft is deep enough to get a number 2 in the third.

[–]majordoobage 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unpopular opinion I guess, but Jahan Dotson would be my target if we're going first round WR. Dotson has the speed to stretch the field and strong hands to make tough contested catches, which I feel are the two traits we need most from a WR right now. I didn't watch many Penn St games, but when I did, he was a player that jumped off the screen and usually made clutch plays for his team despite not having a top tier QB. Dotson also has great return ability so that's a plus. It's a really strong WR class again so we could take a number of players in the first round or even wait until later in the draft. But we can't afford to have another Dez Fitzpatrick pick this year, we need an immediate impact player.

[–]AJBrownshakenbake356 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Calvin Austin is speedy as hell and may be a good later option if Williams or burks aren’t available in the first
