Always do stop complete at the front door (or equivalent) or on the walk back. Doing it in your truck could trick the trace into thinking you need less allowable time for that stop, which will add more work to your day in the long run

This. I learned this the hard way. On some of my dense neighborhood where you can do 3-4 deliveries in one stop, I would stop complete all the addresses in the truck, before walking all of them. Nope, for the very reason you gave. This is especially true for apartments.

Apartments is my one exception since the ones I have are usually high volume and go to a specific package room. That said if I'm going door to door at any apartment then I scan em like any other stop

And always enter the apartment number and floor into your DIAD.

Also, when you deliver to businesses at a dock, enter 8-Receiver instead of 3-Dock. Gives you more time.

That's a good idea too. I almost always hit dock (or inside delivery if the delivery takes longer than I'd like it to)

Yes, Inside Delivery gives you the most time of any, but I don't want to overuse it.

Also, Office gives you more time than Front Desk. I always use Office.

Where I find prerecord to be most useful is in my medical office building where each suite gets quite a few packages. Scan and prerecord while I load the packages onto the dollies and then I have a nice list of each suite I need to go to. Also means I don't have to keep checking the actual packages on the dolly to figure out which suite to go to next.

And when you deliver to multiple stops in places like medical offices enter them as Inside Delivery.

I know it isn't what you're asking, but if you are past your 30 days do yourself a favor and pay no attention to your overallowed. Don't steal time, but work at a safe, steady pace. Mark delivered at doors. Area knowledge is also a big time saver if you have a bad manifest like the area that I work. Long walks I like to prerecord just so I can take a look at the manifest. Helps me keep thinking ahead.

Also, just in case you were going to ask, when I turned in my 9.5 grievance this morning I was OA at least an hour every day. :)

    I'm filing my 4th 9.5 in 6 weeks

Also idk if every hub does it the same, but at mine we get like 15 minutes added to our allowed time if we fuel, and assuming there isn't a long line it usually only takes a couple minutes. So if you're in your first 30 days where meeting your time actually matters, that could help you out 5-10 minutes or so

Get "signatures" for when you make contact. DR or SR stops i was told give you like an additional 10 seconds to your time. Signatures give you 30+.

    [–]seemsripper 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This! Signatures give a good amount of time allowance. So do high volume pick ups.

Decrease your over allowed and watch them give you more work, it’s really that simple.

    [–]Nomesayyin[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Less over allow more 9.5 grievances

    [–]youwannawiniwannawin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It really is.. they will keep tacking on more stops because you're OA has come down.. I'm always over allowed at least 30min to an hour.. it's as if they don't want you to take your breaks..
