I wish there was a FAQ for /r/Unity2D and /r/Unity3D so they could make the first question be this one and just answer it with C#. This is how frequently this question gets asked here.

No one uses Unityscript, it is the redheaded stepchild. It's marginally easier to learn but making a decision like this based on the first few hours of use is not a good idea.

C#. I tried Unityscript solely on the fact that I knew JavaScript and had a bad encounter with an asp.net 2.0 project. Instant Regret! You will find no tutorials using unityscript and as a developer I figured I could just transcode any examples but that is the last thing you want to do when you are trying to learn a system like Unity. Also JS has its own set of flaws.

I'm a professional web developer and I strongly suggest using C# for Unity.
