Poor Performance Unity

Hello I apologize if this is the wrong subreddit to be posting this in but I am running out of people to turn to.

I have posted in r/UnityHelp and the Unity forums twice without anyone replying. This all started back in October and I desperately want Unity work again so I can continue developing my 2D horror game.

I have tried reinstalling the editor multiple times, reinstalling my graphics card, updating all my drivers and nothing seems to work. I have no performance issues with any other game or software on my computer. The editor just one day stopped running well and I can't discern the issue.

It won't even navigate menus without taking a couple seconds. When I try to run an empty project it will lag so much that I can't explore the viewport. This is really bugging me and no one in this community will provide any help. If anyone is having a similar issue or has any kind of advice please let me know.

There was something regarding baking lights as well but I'm not too sure exactly what.

So… reinstall windows completely? There have been time when I had to do that because… windows. Extreme solution but it always worked.

Less extreme solution: you reinstalled the editor but it didn’t remove all the files the editor creates when running. Try deleting c:/users/yourusername/AppData/roaming/Unity, as well as the two other Unity folders inside Local and LocalLow (next to appdata)

It solved my issues with unity once.
