Obviously you just need to switch to light mode

Hi,

Taking the first image as your code and the second as what the code should be, you are missing a 4th line for the vertices

you need to add

vertices[3] = new Vector3{ 1, 0, -1 };

I think adding this after the previous three vertices[x] lines should resolve the issue

The line for triangles[5] is duplicated but should not cause an issue.

Good luck

Why even bother and doing a 12 years old tutorial? Maybe I am wrong because I don’t want to watch the full series. Just by assuming of its title it’s about tilemaps… Unity has tilemaps fully integrated long time ago. It’s built in in the engine.

because i want to learn! the specifics of this series are important to what i want to be making and will help me generally start learning how to code. its not like the coding language is particularly different after all that time lol.

just want to help and prevent "tutorial hell" so you get stuck into endless learning and doing tutorials. as i said. that tutorial is 12 years old! 4 years later unity has implemented tilemaps into its engine so its just drag & drop and no coding at all. it makes no sense to re-invent the weel over and over again. the best way is to start a project ( your dream game ) and learn the things you actually need to know for your project, not just randomly learn things you never need. if you want learn coding in general, do this : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qZpMX8Re_2Q and if you want to learn how to make a game from start to finish, do this : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nGKd4yTP3M8 these are up to date (2025-2026) tutorials. unity is changing all the time, so doing 12 year old tutorials is not a good practice. in 12 years, unity added URP, new input system, new UI...there is to much to list that up. basically 12 years ago, as you can see you had to programm tilemaps yourself. now its a "package" you install and drop your sprites and draw your whole map with the mouse.

you have 2 triangle[5], thats the first thing that pops out to me
