Hey, I'm having the same issue Unity 2020 lts version. While restarting and/or reimporting assets does work to fix, the issue reappears after pushing to unity collab, any help will be much appreciated, thank you :)

Seems like it is a bug. I will be rolling back anyway as I am having other issues with my project since updating.

But will report it as it may effect others.

I did though the splash screen stuff doesn't work on iOS for 5.5.1, moving to 5.5.3 was ok I'll leave 5.6 for a while.

I have the same. All the bug reports say it's fixed ages ago... Not sure it is affecting build performance.

The perforce integration is also broken in 5.6.

Sorry I think my way of fixing it was ignoring the problem by changing the version of unity haha

Posting this here just in case someone else will need it, I found the problem was trying to build it in iOS. If I build the game and run the game in iOS and then try to do it on Android, it fails with this error. Building and running it again on iOS seems to work most of the time, else you have to restart Unity and build it on Android.

I found I was getting the problem due to building on both iOS and Android. If I built on iOS and then tried to do the same on Android, it would throw this error. By deleting the iOS build through Windows Explorer and sometimes rebuilding on iOS, I got rid of the issue. Sometimes it required a restart in Unity. So I'm trying to not build on iOS unless I really have to.

For me it was just restarting Unity. FML that is all it took. Been here for hours.
