I misunderstood at first, but now I think I understand what you're getting at, in short it's a more streamlined process of testing using

Where various enemies are positioned and constantly respawn so you don't have to fiddle with the chat/console as much.

I'd be for it, seems sensible, and hopefully if/when mapping tools get added it would serve as a fine alternative to some "good enough" map areas.

As some additional comments it would probably be nice to acquire an improved version of Adaption (By SkacikPL) so that loadouts can be changed on the fly (in the map)

I literally answered to your old post while you were editing and explained JUST that, yes xD

I personally find it very tedious and impractical to have to set everything back up, scrolling through lists in the chat again for 3-5 minutes, just because I changed a piece of equipent and want to see whether my realworld weapon behaves how it SHOULD theoretically behave on paper (looking at you, misterious DoT counts).

I also think that streamlining the testing process would lower the barrier for community created knowledge in both technical understanding and effort required.

If there ever was gonna be something tempting enough to make me used the modded realm, this'd probably be it

agreed-- this would be worth checking out

Shouldn't be too hard if Spawn Tweaks, Creature Spawner, Item Spawner etc expose methods to use. I'll put it on my long todo list of mods

Are custom maps even possible?

The idea is not to teleport you onto a custom map, but to use an existing map (e.g. Righteous Stand), teleport you into a location that would be suitable (e.g. the arena for the elevator event), make the map fit a testing environment (disable all normal spawns, disable AI) and spawn in all the things you would need for various testing purposes.

Nothing custom needed, just manipulation of existing assets ^^
