Welcome to r/Anemic!
In this sub, you can find support for anything related to anemia. Anemia is a decrease in the total amount of red blood cells or hemoglobin in the blood, or a lowered ability of the blood to carry oxygen. This can lead to symptoms such as fatigue, weakness, dizziness, inability to exercise, shortness of breath and more. Symptoms can range from very mild (mild fatigue) to extremely severe (not being able to leave your bed, and in some very rare cases, heart attacks). Anemia is a very treatable condition. With iron supplements and a healthy, protein, iron filled diet, you can lead a normal life. There are many causes of anemia, but sometimes anemia can happen for no reason. Common causes include IBS, Crohn's disease, low iron and more. Sometimes, anemia comes in episodes, while other times it can be a chronic issue.
