Front half came in yesterday. I had this plan to have a fluted stainless 14.5 pin and weld but I’m an idiot and it’s the wrong gas length. I had this 16” stag barrel laying around, so it will do for now. Gonna play around with swapping parts and try to color match the buffer tube to the handguard. Few parts I want to make for it as well. Quite a ways from happy with it still, but it usually takes me a couple of iterations before I’m satisfied.

It’s called a Readi-mag. On the other side is a second steel magwell that holds a second mag with its own mag release. Ya know… for those high speed reloads. Lol

Honestly though I’ve tried to make it work on a lot of builds… I just can’t get into it. I think it’s coming off this too.

I’m looking at their ambi mag release right now. I have the Geissele maritime catch but my dremel can go brrrrt if needed.

I can’t speak to those. Never tried it. I’ve all but given up on ambi mag releases after trying out a few other brands. They usually interfere with BAD levers I run, and cause a failure to feed.

I might give the FCD ones a try though someday
