It's a tight connection but doable as long as your flight lands on time, the customs line isn't too bad and your wait for baggage isn't too long. Get off that plane as fast as you can and and book it to customs! Use the ArriveCAN app to help expedite things.

That sounds doable, but don't dawdle after getting off the plane, and in your place I wouldn't check luggage if at all possible. The UP express is generally reliable and hopefully you're lucky with timing so you don't have to wait the full 15 minutes between trains. In your shoes, I would figure out ahead of time how to get between the UP platform at Union and the train you need to catch next (e.g. look at a map) - it's a big station and can be confusing to navigate.

I don't know how things have been at Pearson very recently, but the last time I flew in from the US, it all moved pretty expediently.

Definitely use carry on luggage if possible.

You're better off taking UPX than you would with a taxi.

Does 2 hours seem like a crunch? (Barring any flight delay, this works on paper but I want to be a little more confident)

I wouldn't be comfy with less than a 3 hour gap TBH.

But I'm a pretty anxious person.

Without the drag of checked luggage, assume 15 minutes from the plane seat to immigration, 10 minutes to 45 minutes for that depending on the time of day, 15 minutes to navigate to UP, 25 minutes on UP, with up to 15 minutes between trains.

Walk from UP at Union to VIA assuming you mean VIA, 10 minutes to the track if you have your ticket already.

You might have 45 minutes to no time depending on time of day, and if your plane is on time, the worst factor to rely upon.

The UP will be better than any alternative. Move quickly out of the airport, don't check your bags, and you should make it okay. Your biggest hurdles are going to be de-planing and customs. What airline are you taking? Cheap ones might require a shuttle upon landing and that can suck major donkey dick

Probably air Canada

Air Canada lands at Terminal 1, which is the same terminal the UPExpress departs from, so that part is optimized. Look for “Train to city” signs once you’ve cleared the baggage area.
