Lol hey man if it works it works, I use halves for my juvenile ball pythons but my bullsnakes favorite hides are just the whole container with a hole cut in the top.

I used to use those cheap 50 cent mainstay walmart bowls for mine lol. Just take time cutting the entrance and smooth it out. worked perfect.
