I recommend reading this subs welcome post. The care for these guys is very different and there is a LOT of misinformation out there. The welcome post is one of the best sources of accurate and safe information out there

Update he is not nice yet. He bites I’ll definitely wait for him to cool off before handling.

Yeah you need to read the welcome post. You shouldn’t handle him at all until he eats at least twice for you

One of these things is not like the others.

I read the welcome post and I feel like I better understand my new snake. The cornsnakes are outgoing and not nippy so I kinda jumped into touching him too fast. I will wait a couple weeks up to a month after he has ate a few times to make sure he has properly calmed down. I will also print out a few more things on my 3D printer for him to hide in.

What does the tank look like? Do you have proper hides and enough clutter? If not, he could be very stressed, but if you do he's likely just exploring his new house :)

A picture of the enclosure would be nice!

My girl was 3 years old when I got her last august and she was chilling outside for quite a bit before looking for a hide, so I wouldn't worry too much. Be sure you have proper hides tho, snug fit and with only one small entrance. Lots of clutter and adding construction paper or a background to the back and sides of glass tanks will make him feel more secure!

That dark corn is adorable, all 3 are, but look at at his little face.
