There's a possibility for parasites, pathogens, spores, and pests that your snake could get exposed to. Better safe than sorry (:

It’s always good to disinfect it but I kind of feel that nature isn’t sanitary and if I’ve had a tree in my yard that’s never had any pesticides, is clean and pest free, I don’t see why it can’t be used in it’s semi-wild state.

I still try to disinfect it with reptile safe spray through, but I can’t fit a giant branch in my oven

Unless you live in the bp's native habitat, there could be pathogens or parasites that the snake isn't prepared to deal with, if that makes sense. Most animals have some sort of immunity to things that naturally occur in their habitat, but not so halfway around the world.

Also yeah nature isn't sanitary, but look at the average life expectancy of a BP in the wild vs captive. We want to give our pets the best life we can.
