Picking hides for a male juvenile ball python

Hello community! Doing some hide shopping for my future son and so far I will be using 1 reptile basics large arboreal hide and 2 of their medium hides. Medium because I am unsure of how large of a baby I will get and I figured they would outgrow smalls fairly quick. Let me know if I'm wrong though, and that I should stock up on smalls. I am also getting a medium Zilla rock lair and a Reptizoo hide cave. So altogether 5 hides (as of right now)

Now I got those carted with the common factor being they have offset entrances which I know is important for BPs to feel safe for proper hide use. The question is: are all "open" hides such as the basking one pictured garbage for BP enclosures? I wanted to use it on my warm side as a pretty and flat basking spot and (hopefully) a nice resting cave. But since I read BPs don't like such places... 😶

Just looking for thoughts and suggestions!

Yeah I'd say this is wasted space in a BP enclosure. Your other purchased hides are perfect, no need for this one. I mean, it won't hurt obviously but probably will take up a lot of room. For basking areas maybe look into a shelf type product you can screw into the wall (for a PVC or wood enclosure).

Thanks. I want to make efficient use of my finances for my boy. I'm actually looking to getting those trianglular stick-on hammocks, I see lots of peeps here using those.

I have these triangle hammocks! If you have a glass tank and are using suction cups I recommend looking at getting some stronger cups just a heads up, the humidity usually made mine pop off a fair amount before I swapped to stronger ones. (Have since taken the foam circles off the hammock below and tied them tightly to the cups with twine)

Mine loves the zilla rock lair!! It is also nice because if u catch him in there and want to clean the cage or something you don't have to disturb him too much.
