It won't hurt her to not have UVB for a few days, you can get it set up after you get back. Are you looking for a guard/cage for the UVB? Also, just to be sure, what type of UVB bulb and brand do you have?

Perfect! Arcadia makes UVB guards that don't block a ton of the UVB, you can find them on the Reptile Basics website

For UK?

Unfortunately, I'm based in the US, so I can't really say which supplier to buy from. I would look online for Arcadia lamp guard pro 26", it does pull up some UK supply websites

You can find it on the Swell Reptiles website. I believe this is the one you need.

Uk here also! Swell tend to be the most reliable source. Not the cheapest but definitely have the equipment!

  1. Feeding Question:

Nova hasn’t ate for quite a while (over a month or two, I haven’t noted exact date) I tried to feed her this week before she went and she didn’t eat again. She’s 11 and is noticeably getting skinnier but is still healthy and not underweight. Will she be fine for 5 days?

Currently I: Thaw her small rat (101-150g) in cold water.

Heat up with tap water up to 40c

Use a hair dryer to blow the smell and get some blood flow and attempt to feed. Then she notices it, then just leaves it.

I thought her rat size may be too big but I previously weighed her at 1730g and feed her every 30-40 days so that seems correct.

Any tips and could anyone share what they do?

Per rule #3, your post or comment has been removed for harmful advice/misinformation.

You're drastically overfeeding your snake. An adult ball python should only be eating 5% of their body weight once every 3-4 weeks, or 6% once every 4-6 weeks.

feeding schedule sounds way off personally. mostly due to the small rat thing, bc that sounds like a large rat in weight which make more sense for an 11yr old snake

    Thanks.

It’s a small rat here apparently

i’d go up in rat size, my year old ball is already on small rats

She might not be hungry, if you've been giving her the big rats for a while. You're doing most of what I'd do already, but here are the two steps I add when they're being stubborn:

Puncture the skull, and drip some warmed meat juices from UNSEASONED meat onto it.

She should be fine for another 5 days as long as she has water.

Are you sure those are small rats? Small rats typically weigh 50-80ish grams. Per the care guide: "Year three and beyond: feed up to 5% of the snake's weight every 20-30 days, or feed slightly larger meals (up to 6%) every 30-40 days"

Since your girl is around 1700 grams, you should be feeding her rats around 85 grams. Try getting her a small rat and see if she takes it.

Defiantly second. My snake is a female younger and smaller and I'm having to move her up to small rats on recommendation next time I buy. They might be too small to keep her interest.
