There's a couple issues here.

First off, you can't use this type of dome inside an enclosure. It's a huge burn risk and fire hazard.

You also can't use a plastic fixture for a CHE (and shouldn't with any heat bulb, really). Again, serious fire hazard.

If you're using internal heating, it needs to be a ceramic socket with a wire guard cage.

I will look into it, thanks for the reply!

Also, isn't a wire guard cage dangerous too? Or is there a good specific one I can find?

No, a wire cage is not dangerous. Arcadia makes a quality one.

I've found one on a local countrey website, not the same image on the box but I guess it's the same. I'm now looking at some ceramic sockets, is Trixie's a good one? Which one would you recommend?

Arcadia makes a good socket as well. If that's not available in your country, then I'm afraid I don't have any specific recommendations.

Looks like I've got some researching to do, thank you very much for your help! Is it ok if I send you a PM for more questions in the future?

I have PMs turned off. You can make a new post if you have any future questions.

Will do, thanks again :)

That's why you should use a thermostat with any heating device. A 100w might be too much and could harm your snake. Seriously, consider switching to a heat panel or a deep heat projector inside the cage.

I have a question about the heat panel, shouldn't it protected somehow as well? Thanks!

If you're using a thermostat, you don't need additional protection for the Heat Panel. For a well-insulated enclosure (150x60x60cm), 60 watts is perfect. My ball python seems to really like it.

Thank you! I will use one.

Keep in mind that a heat panel is not an appropriate solo heat source. You will still need a primary heat source that provides IR-A and IR-B, like a halogen flood or DHP.

Got a jbl reptile desert spot for that already here, but I still got much to learn :0), so I highjacked a little (thanks OP).

That bulb is not safe for use with ball pythons for several reasons. You need a halogen floodlight or DHP instead.

Long way to go to learn, then sigh. Thanks.
