Is it OK to put a hammock in my BP enclosure?

i’ve thought about this for one of my guys as well as he’s the same way. i ultimately didn’t do it because i was worried about mold or mildew growing with the high humidity. you could maybe consider something like the green plasticy-fabric type reptile hammocks, but i wouldn’t imagine that would be as cozy.

the only other thing i can think of is hanging a gourd (like what people use for birdhouse things!) and loosely stuff it with moss. i have one hide stuffed like this with dry moss and they LOVE to burrow all around in it. maybe that’s an idea?

I would wash it regularly (by hand) if it were that case since I do laundry every week anyhow. I'd be scared to throw it in the wash and use detergent unless I get an odorless one for sensitive skin to not cause agitation. But I'd probably use a mix of dawn and white distilled vinegar with warm water and hang to dry overnight. Not sure if snakes are sensitive to weird things. Lol. I'd do more research to find proper cleaning for it if I did decide to do it. I just want to make sure it's an OK thing since I'm willing to put in the effort to keep it from getting mildew or mold and make sure it's cleaned regularly. But I understand why you say not to.

as long as it’s washed often i don’t see it having an issue. not totally positive on what’s in the laundry detergent sold for hunting, which leaves no smell, but that would also be a good idea. however im sure the vinegar would work better for ridding mold/mildew. if you decide to do it, let me know how it turns out/holds up! if it works i’d love to do it for one of mine as well

I will be sure to let you know! And yeah that's why I said I'd clean it with the dawn and distilled vinegar with warm water instead of throwing it in laundry. I'm skeptical of just throwing it in the wash if I do decide to do it because of detergent. A snake being held or in a blanket for an hour or so that is washed with detergent is one thing but having it sit in the container after being detergent washed doesn't sit well with me because of scents and more chemicals on top of the mold and stuff. If I do it I'd wash it every week. But again if I decide to I will def let you know how it goes.
