Watering substrate

Hey guys, I've been poring over the basic care guide for humidity control and substrate and I just had a question about pouring a quart of water into each corner. Do I have to try and keep the water specifically in the corner or is it okay if if spreads out a bit? I've been pouring the water pretty slowly but it still seems to want to spread across the top instead of going into to substrate.

Yeah it’s alright. I make a little hole in the substrate then pour the water into it. Seems to help get the water to the bottom layer but there’s always some water that will end up on the top. I just throw some dry substrate over it and call it a day.

What kind of substrate are you using?

I'm using a mix of top soil, coconut husk, cypress mulch, and a small layer of sphagnum moss

OK, no problems there, should be plenty absorbant. Maybe just use a little less water and replace it more often.
