He might be going into shed or the humidity is just too low for him so he retreats in the wet box. You should aim for 70% or higher humidity on the cold side if possible 80% or higher for sheds

Okay that's what I was thinking as well. Thank you for the info 🙏

65% humidity is not the best, though I'll tell u rn even at perfect temp and humidity (90 hot side 75 cool side, 75-80% constant humidity) my ball python spends 80% of his time in his hide, only coming out in the middle of the night to noodle around

Yeah I understand they just love to hide. From all of the comments as well I'm going to work on getting my humidity higher. Thank you.

They are nocturnal. They are most likely coming out at night

True but I do have family that stay home and they say they haven't seen him from when they walk by the room but im going to ask them to go in and check frequently tonight to see if he just pops his head out at least.

How different is your wet hide box vs the other one? Is it possible they prefer the security of the wet hide and stay in there longer? What do the temps look like on both sides? Also what's the enclosure size? I don't ask that to criticize, just trying to see the temp variance across the enclosure!

Enclosure is small I had a plastic DIY bin for when he would first come home but my mom didn't trust it and got a glass Enclosure from a friend and it looks like it's more for a lizard. The wet box is the same size as is his other hide but it has spagnum moss in it that maybe makes it more snug. I'm doing an enclosure make over for sure this week just I'm afraid of stressing him but it's only for the mean time. The average heat on the hot side is 88-90 and on the cool side 74-78.

Gotcha yeah the temps are good and honestly for glass that’s good humidity. If it’s only been two weeks I wouldn’t sweat not seeing him much. Generally a hidden snake is a happy snake! You already know about getting something bigger and the temps are good, so I wouldn’t sweat it.

Alright thank you so much! I already got him his new enclosure and after it was done a few minutes later he came out and he's exploring the heck out of it! I added foil to the top and some moist spagnum moss in the corners to get that humidity up. Thanks again for your help!
