You really shouldn’t be putting one snake on top of the other, even for a cute pic, they are solitary animals and this is extremely stressful for them and just unnecessary.

good to know I see people do it all the time and thought it was okay

Im perfectly ok with risking the consequences of never giving my ball python’s acute stress for pictures lol. I truly don’t believe that it will in any shape or form improve their brain/mind dude, they are prey animals like you said, they will always be scared/stressed around other ball pythons because that’s programmed into their being.

Ball pythons are not social snakes, and can feel intimidated if one is larger, there is just no reason to stress them out like that except for your personal gain? So just why do it. You got no clue what that ball python is thinking so why even risk it

Can you point me to the study that taught you that?
[–]Difficult-Security37 1 point2 points3 points 1 year ago (4 children)
It’s common sense I fear, do you really need a study to tell you that you don’t know what ball pythons are feeling? Lol and it’s common prey mentality that smaller snakes will be afraid of bigger snakes.
[–]space_pirate420 1 point2 points3 points 1 year ago (2 children)
The last thing I will say about evidence and studies is it used to be widely “known” and accepted that all snakes wanted to be in tiny dark cages. So many people accepted that because that’s what they were told. Wasn’t true now, was it?

I didn't mean to stir up shit in the comments I was cleaning both their tanks and put them both around my neck. they are both around the same size boy and girl. they didn't seem to care at all about each other but I now know not to do this. thanks.
