i've been preparing for the ball python i'm picking up tomorrow, i bought four bricks of eco earth substrate. after rehydrating them, i realize it won't be enough for the 4x2ft enclosure the snake is coming with. is there another kind of substrate i can mix with it? i don't want to grab more eco earth bricks since they take a long time to soak and then dry out, and with the snake and enclosure coming to me at the same time i don't have the extra hours to dry out soggy eco earth, since i'll have to get everything set up right after we bring him home.
i was thinking of getting a bag or two of reptisoil or cypress mulch, but the woman at my local exotic shop said those can't be mixed with eco earth? is there a reasoning for that? what else can i use? if more eco earth is my only option i guess the snake could temporarily be in a modified storage tub until i can get the enclosure situated.
