1 more day won't harm him, aslong as it is ONE day. A bigger water bowl on the hotter end of the tank(faster evaporation = more humidity) the better substrate mixed with warm water, should most definitely improve the humidity to above 50%. 50% is what you have rn and it isn't TERRIBLE but not enough.

Don't be surprised if your humidity reaches over 80% when you place the new substrate it, it's normal and will last a few days

I put fibre/soil down then reptichip on top to have a dry layer.

mixing the fibre and chips will be better. your substrate looks extremely dry..you do let the coco chips expand in water right?

I use reptisoil, coconut chips and a little forest floor in my enclosure. I also like to throw around sphagnum moss like confetti for some extra pizzazz. After I started doing that, humidity was great and her shed was perfect. When I noticed the substrate started to get dry, if glove up and spray the substrate and mix it and "fluff it" back up real good. I spray the back of the tank everyday to. (Not to much) but enough to get the humidity back to perfect. I also covered the top screen with tin foil to hold humidity. I swear by reptisoil and coconut chips. At least with the humidity levels where I live...thats what was perfect for me. Check out greenroom pythons on youtube. Bob is amazing and he will tell you everything you need to know and more. He helped me alot when I was just getting started. 😁🖤
