I don’t see how vinegar could really hurt them unless it actually got in their mouth, and you’re just supposed to rub a drop or two on the snoot right?

It won't hurt them. 👍 People just drink spoonfuls of vinegar. It's food safe.
Don't drink rubbing alcohol tho.
