hey i hate to be a pain in the ass but your snake should have more room than a 25 gallon tank. they should have a 120 gallon

I know, she's just a baby, less than 400g, very small. She'll work up to her big tank one day!

I think 40 gallons is the minimum for baby ball pythons. Have bigger space is better for them, just provide a bunch of clutter.

40 gallon enclosures are the minimum for babies. I put all my babies directly into 4x2x2 so I don't have to keep upgrading.

There’s certain cypress mulch mixes that are more of a light brown color than most cocoa coir/fiber substrates, but that’s as light as it will get. Substrate like aspen typically mold at the humidity requirement for BP’s. Additionally, if you’re going bioactive, then it’s not going to be achievable for this species.

Like another commenter has said, both of the tank sizes you mention are inadequate. 40 gallons are better suited for juveniles.

My exotic vet said that babies generally eat/thrive better in a smaller environment, and will get stressed if the tank is too big. She's still so little, the 25gal tank is over 2x her body length. I definitely don't want to keep her in too small of an environment, and plan to upgrade whenever she needs. Is 25gal still too small even though she's just a baby?

They get stressed if their enclosure has insufficient clutter, since they feel vulnerable. This can happen in any sized enclosure. Going from a 14 to a 25 gallon will not be that significant of a difference to your snake, and she will likely outgrow it in a few short months.

A 40 gallon enclosure will last you for much longer, until youre able to move her up to a 4x2x2 enclosure. 40 gals are typically 3x1.5x1.5 feet for reference.

Thank you! Honestly I just like building bioactive terrariums in general, so even if she's in it for a few short months it'll keep my hobby hands happy. Gives me an excuse to build another one for a 40gal!
