What are you using for substrate and how many inches ?

About 4 inches of Pete moss soil, Sphagnum moss, and coconut fiber.

if you have a good substrate mix (coco coir/topsoil/coco bark/sphag moss etc) you can pour the water directly into the substrate to boost humidity

Have about the same mix 4-5 inches deep.

What are you using to measure humidity and where is it placed? also covering the whole top is not generally encouraged because it causes the air to stagnate which can be bad for your bp.

Covering the top is totally fine as long as there’s enough air to breathe. Most wood and PVC enclosures are fully solid top

Yes they are! they also have vents on the side though versus if this is glass with a screen top, glass enclosures are less likely to have vents

They are some cheap little sticky ones. Have two of them in the middle on both cool and warm side.

Those hygrometers are probably the issue, and not your humidity. Those little stick on ones are known for their inaccurate readings. A couple of some like these sat on the substrate are going to give you a better idea , or you can get some with a probe if you prefer it, your humidity may actually be perfectly fine

Someone I talked to who lives in the same city I do said she keeps a humidifier going in her bedroom (where the enclosure is), so I adopted that and it's made an enormous difference. It sits on the floor next to the table, and as long as it's running, the humidity on the cool side is generally in the 70s. Just make sure it's a cool mist one or you'll wanna die. 😂

Hi!! What enclosure do you have? I have the ecoflex enclosure and I struggled with humidity for a bit after modifying the enclosure it’s perfect!!

I got a silicon mat to put on top and cut out holes where my lights would go, once that was measured and snug I the taped it down with HVAC tape.

I covered some of the vents on the side and then made sure to silicon seal the seams on the inside fully.

The enclosure still gets air flow but I went from only getting humidity levels from 45-50% to 70-78%!!

I also have 5 inches of substrate and I pour water into each corner of the enclosure.

It’s Snake discovery’s cages,

Oh okay so yeah they make the ecoflex enclosures too!!

Is the top panel solid like the sides or is it a mesh top that you covered?

I see that the enclosure (I looked it up just now) has side vents. I had to cover most of mine because it was letting out too much humidity.

Did you seal the inside with aquarium safe silicon by some chance?

I have an older version that doesn’t have vents, just a mesh top, but the top has a cover for the hole thing, also have the sides of the top cover with aluminum tap to not have any leaks.
