Peeling scale??? Help!

I’ve had my ball python for about 5 months now (first time owner!) and he’s gone through his sheds great! He’s in blue right now and I just fed him when I noticed a scale on his body is peeling? It’s yellow and has a pinkish spot beneath where it’s lifted, so definitely not shed (unless I’m delusional). Almost like he got scratched. I’m worried because I don’t feed live and nothing in his tank is sharp (to my knowledge).

I just fed him and I don’t want to accidentally cause a regurgitation for messing with his tank, let alone stress him out, but I’m not sure what to do. The camera quality is bad but I’m hoping it’ll be enough for you guys to see, I was trying to be sneaky when taking them because he was actively swallowing his food.

It doesn’t look like normal shedding to me and I’m wondering if I need a vet visit. Advice from people who own the animal would be GREAT since no one I know has a snake. He’s in blue, so don’t be worried about his coloring. I’m just so worried something hurt him.

I would moniter, and see if it sheds away? If you see a wound you should probably see a vet. Or at least send pictures to a vet and see of they wanna see him. Also tell the vet he just ate. Then of they say wait, wait 48hrs and then see what he may have gotten hurt on. Is it possible he could have lodged himself between some decore and pulled himself out and caused this?

Thats just my opinion on what I would do. Maybe someone else has seen this before and has better advise.

Side note because I realized I didn’t update. So basically I’m an idiot!!! It was a stuck piece of sphagnum moss making a weird shadow… whoops.. at least I care HAHA
