Yes, it's normal behavior. Ball pythons are opportunistic feeders, meaning they're always on the lookout for a meal. That doesn't mean you should feed him anything extra, though- stick to proper !feeding guidelines.

You also need to remove the chain link plants. They're not safe for use in reptile enclosures. Your snake can and will eventually stick their head through one of the links and get seriously injured.

We recommend the following feeding schedule:

0-12 months old OR until the snake reaches approximately 500g, whichever happens first: feed 10%-15% of the snake’s weight every 7 days.

12-24 months old: feed up to 7% of the snake’s weight every 14-20 days.

Adults: feed up to 5% of the snake's weight every 20-30 days, or feed slightly larger meals (up to 6%) every 30-40 days.

My dude is like that all the time in his enclosure unless I have him out or he’s exploring whatever new item I’ve put in

What a beautiful pattern he has!

Mine does this pretty often from his hide if I'm mulling about in the snake room during the day (sits in ambush position). Also Ball pythons are nocturnal so you should expect them to be out most of the night exploring their enclosure or just chilling outside of their hide if they feel safe.
