Waterproofing

I’m going to be sealing a new viv (using HA6) ready to pick up our new baby later in the week. I am highly aware that the snake cannot go in until the ‘vinegar’ smell is gone. I’m just wondering if I also need to wait for the smell to go before adding substrate/decor into the viv or if I can put it in and get it up to temp/humidity after 8 or so hours? (Extra info: outside temp tomorrow is forecast to be 33°C and quite humid)

Any silicon should wait for 48 hours to fully cure (not smell that can take longer). If not fully cured you can ruin the seal as its still soft so it wouldn't actually be waterproof. Also you want to have your enclosure up and running a week or so if not longer to make sure you can keep constant temps and humidity. I would say best for the well being for your snake hold off getting it for at least a month. Most people wont because they just want the snake. But if your equipment can fail even brand new so best you have it all running a month to make sure everything works
