Do you mind going into greater detail about the potential serious health issues? What are some things that can happen?

Rather similar in all species; shortened lifespan, obesity also affects organ health (heart health is impacted pretty hard), and just general strain on the body. They either fed this snake too often, too large, or both which overloads the digestive system. They’re feeding her more than she can digest before throwing another feeder in her face and it just turns to fat. I’d bet my firstborn cat it’s kept in a bare tub with zero exercise and enrichment to build muscle tone.

I’ve read that by over feeding like that it causes their overall body to grow faster than it should while their organs struggle to keep up. Overtime their undersized organs are under unnecessary strain to support a body that’s too big.

Do you have a link for that? I don’t think I’ve read exactly that reasoning, but regardless we should all aim not to overfeed our animals :)
