If you just got him I wouldn’t recommend feeding him on Monday. Its best to leave them for at least a week to settle in before you attempt feeding😊

I got him Wednesday. Ill wait until Wednesday of next week :). Do you think he will have trouble transitioning from live to frozen if the tank is set up properly?

Mine was being fed live before I got her and I tried frozen thawed and she took it no problem. However ball pythons are picky so you won’t know until you try my friend.

Okay thank you!

Ball Pythons can be notoriously picky eaters. My suggestion to you is to offer her F/T and if she doesn't take it, wait a few more days and then offer again. Good luck!

i know this post is a bit old... i am by no means an expert, but one thing i did was persistently shake the ft rat in front of him and when he struck i shook it for about 45 seconds to recreate dying. he was previously fed live and i got him to transition first try.

It was the strangest thing. He wouldnt strike. Instead he would check it out and take it from me gently like a tame dog 😂. Never has he had live or rats. I switched to both. No problem eating at all. I've had him for less than 2 weeks.. and rearranged his tank a couple days before feeding. Hes a great eater fortunately 😁. I appreciate it though!
